Saw someone make an article about this on Bleacher Report just now, so I just wanted to know what you guys think will be the the top 10 SGs next season.

BTW, their list was ...
1. James Harden
2. Dwyane Wade
3. DeMar DeRozan
4. Monta Ellis
5. Lance Stephenson
6. Klay Thompson
7. Bradley Beal
8. Arron Afflalo
9. Manu Ginobili
10. Dion Waiters

The writer had Kobe Bryant in the "Biggest Question Mark". He said nobody knows how he'll perform next season, which I agree with and I'm sure everybody does.

Anyway here's my list
1. James Harden
2. Dwyane Wade
3. DeMar DeRozan
4. Klay Thompson
5. Monta Ellis
6. Lance Stephenson
7. Bradley Beal
8. Arron Afflalo
9. Jamal Crawford
10. Manu Ginobili

Kobe Bryant - ?

I really don't know how Kobe will do next season. He can come back next season and average 25/5/5 or maybe he'll put up something like 22/5/4... I mean who really knows? It's the same with Derrick Rose. No one knows how well these two guys will do next season.

I like ur list but I would put Lance ahead of Monta and drop Crawford to put Waiters at #10

Is your "or maybe" Kobe's potential floor for next season? I think it's lower than that. In the teens, at most.

I would probably take Joe Johnson over some of those guys. Maybe the SG between Bledsoe and Dragic. Wes Matthews?

Surprised they got Wade so high. The SG position is so weak now.

Regardless of which list you go with, the talent at SG is nowhere near as bad as people like to make it out to be. Sure it isn't as top-heavy as previous eras, but Afflalo, Crawford, Beal, Manu range from serviceable to able-to-take-over a game.

Whats all this talk about Kobe putting up a 25/5/5?

Kobe's prime was basically a 27/5/5 and people think he'll just score 2 less points at the age of 36 with 2 major injuries?

I think 20/4/4 on 43% is realistic

Wade barely had the ball in his hands, took 14 shots and still put up 19/5/5

I always thought Terrence was the SG? :confusedshrug:

Either way, most SG/SFs are interchangeable.

Ross, at least from what I see from our broadcast and others, is slotted in at SF. But, box score previews and websites like basketball reference have DeRozan at SF. Basketball reference in particular have DeRozan ranked at SF over 75% of the time and I have no idea how that works. I see a lot of times in DeRozan calling himself a SG.

I agree though, SG/SF are interchangeable, especially in this case.

Are you kidding me? The amount of disrespect Wade gets now is insane. If Wade steps onto the court against any of these SG's (without Lebron), he's going to win the match up. He might not be healthy enough to play the entire season, but when he can, he's the best SG in the league at this point.

No he's not.

I agree. He's one of 2-3 SG's getting overrated in the current off season. The other Klay Thompson and Bradley Beal.

None of them have broken out yet as consistent performers. Beal still needs to be much more efficient, Thompson needs to improve his overall game, and Stephenson needs to play within the flow and not lose his head during games and on teammates.

Health is obviously the key, but he's back to being the primary ball handler/scorer/playmaker so he has a great chance to put up some really nice numbers. I expect a resurgant type season.

How is it weak? It's not top heavy but the overall talent is not weak at all.

It's basically like the center crop. Lacks the superstars, but has overall decent depth.

Wade is not better than Harden at this point, despite what the massive amount of Harden haters on this site wanna claim. Being the best at your position means being consistent, and at this stage of their careers Harden is the more consistent/reliable player.

There's this thing called defense. Wade knows how to play defense, Harden doesn't.

Last season, I think Wade tied Harden one game and outperformed him the other.

http://www.basketball-reference.com/play-index/h2h_finder.cgi?request=1&p1=wadedw01&p2=hardeja01

In their first meeting:
Harden got 21/4/11 with 6 turnovers and 1 steal shooting 60%
Wade got 24/4/6 with 3 turnovers and 2 steals shooting 53%

Second meeting:
Harden 30/3/1 with 4 turnovers and 1 steal on 44% shooting
Wade 24/3/6 with 1 turnover, 2 steals, and a blcok on 67% shooting

I definitely think with Wade as the first option on the Heat again, he's gonna be the best shooting guard on the court.

It's not hate. I think Harden will be the second best SG behind Wade. I think as long as Wade steps foot on the court, he's the better SG.

I was just thinking about how good Kobe Bryant was down the stretch of the 2013 season when he was carrying the Lakers to the playoffs after their abysmal start and injury filled season.

Over his final 23 games up until rupturing his Achilles, Kobe Bryant averaged: 29 ppg, 6 rpg, 7 apg and 46% fg.

Obviously, those days are long behind him with two serious leg injuries over the last year and a half, age and mileage.

The thing is, as a Lakers fan, I still have some unfounded hope that this year of rest and possibly rehab has strengthened and rejuvinated him enough to possibly allow him to get close to that level again.

It wouldn't suprise me at all to see Kobe have strong season. He'll be highly motivated and it goes without saying he's been working hard. I think both he and Wade will silence a lot of the doubters.

Once the season starts, Wade, Manu and Kobe will be in everyoen's top 10. Harden as well. In the offseason it's easy to write all these guys off, but unless they are injured big time they are making the top 10 easily.
