Would be a good addition as scoring I feel could be their downfall in the playoffs .

While it is speculation at this stage, the addition of Martin would give us another unique weapon to throw out there.

Snell and Dunleavy are essentially made redundant by having Butler/Moore/Hinrich/McDermott/Mirotic/Brooks for depth at the SG/SF positions.

What Bulls would be doing here is a small upgrade and going into win now mode.

Developing more players isn't needed at this stage.

I'm not wrapped that we will have to keep him for 3 seasons at around 8 mill, but he does fill a need.

Am I the only one who doesn't think this is a great deal for Chicago?

I'm slightly on the positive end. But I can easily convince myself the other way too :oldlol:

I keep telling myself that his defense will be a non-issue if he has the defensive players around him.

IF he stays healthy, he can only help I suppose. The 3 years left on his 8 mill contract is a bit of a concern for an injury prone player.

that dude sucks ass every year after 20 or so games into the season. plus he looks like he has down syndrome

no pun intended

I like Snell though. Mini-Kawhi.

I don't know why the Wolves would give up Martin, they're gonna need his scoring. I don't think LaVine is ready to contribute and Wiggins ain't no 20ppg player right now.

They won't be competing for anything this year.

From their end, looks like a salary dump and a low risk move to see Snell develop.

Only downside of this potential deal is basically giving away Snell.

I like him and think he could have a real good year this year. He's a csth and shoot players, he's athletic, he's long so it could help his defensive development later on, and he must have something because Thibs never plays rooks and Snell got some quality PT last season.

But if we make this deal it pushes us up closer to the "Championship or bust" tier.
Rose/Martin/Butler/Gasol/Noah
Brooks/Hinrich/McDermott/Mirotic/Gibson

That lineup with that depth is the perfect mix of offense & defense, athleticism &, shooting, and youth & veteran leadership. It'll really put a lot of expectation on the club.

Bulls get 2 good things out of this. One, another scorer that can take pressure off of Rose from the perimeter, and two, Bulls fans/players won't have to see Snells ugly ass on the sidelines this year.

If this doesn't happen, I'd be a terribly disappointed Bulls fan.

I don't like giving up Snell and a pick. That's a little much, IMO. But Martin would make our team better.

He's still a good scorer. These Bulls teams needs some scoring.

Rockets were a 500 team that one season until they traded for Kevin Martin and ended the CarLuis ScoLandry era. That season was the closest the Rockets had ever been to making the play-offs until that Kevin Martin Trade. The Thunder downgraded after the Harden/Martin trade. Martin on the Bulls could work though because Jimmy Butler's a better starter than Thabo Sefolotion, because Jimmy Butler's a better player at both ends of the floor, while Thunder's past shooting guard rotations try to mask's each other weaknesses by utilizing their strengths. Kevin Martin was a terrible defender.

I don't like this move. He is not the player his numbers suggest. I'd do it only if Snell wasn't involved.

Are you comparing Kevin Martin coming off a pretty damn productive season for a competitive WC team to Rip coming to Chicago when he had already far passed his prime?

Quality post though

I like the idea on paper, getting a scorer who gets to the line a lot, but the game isn't played on paper. I have a hard time trusting Martin in the playoffs when defenses will foul less and make him drive into traffic.

If he isn't scoring, he has a negative impact overall. He is the 2 guard version of Boozer.

I think it's a year too early to give up Snell imo.

Isn't Dunleavy beloved by Thibs also?

The Bulls could have had Afflalo on a contract year

Now they are giving up Snell to take on Kevin Martin's terrible deal?

So much fail in this post.

You think its that straight forward? We can just HAVE afflalo like we didnt have any competition to get him?

Its hilarious that everyone is talking like Snell is this immovable piece now, but before any trade, people were saying he sucks :oldlol:

The last part of this post is the worst. Kevin martin is terrible? A player coming of a 19 ppg season is never terrible.

All credibility lost in one post :coleman:

Dude, Orlando is straight garbage. And I would have loved AA but we were still trying to get carmelo at that point and we wanted as much space as possible for his contract

I don't like the trade, I would give them dunleavy and a pick but the salaries don't match so...
