2000s decade = first day of 2001 thru the last day of 2010. Get educated.

so technically, Shaq would have 3 rings, 2 FMVPs.
Kobe 4 rings 2 FMVPs.

I think OP left out Kobe's Finals MVP's because they were kinda undeserved, especially after his 6-24 game 7 performance. :confusedshrug:

The 90's was MJ

6 rings 6 FMVP and 3-4 MVP's

2000's was Shaq

4 rings 3 FMVP beast stats

2010's so far is LeBron

2 MVP's 2 rings 2 FMVP's

:confusedshrug:

yes

technically there was no year 0

the first year is 1AD... not 0AD

10 is the last year of the first decade

so 2010 would be the last year of the last decade

dang... looks like Kobe is the consensus player of the 2000s by most websites, polls, people, players, coaches, GMs. Can't really argue with that, as much as i hate Kobe.

dubeta

People on Polls tend to be most biased on the later years of the decade rather than the first years, hence Kobe being rated so high

Of course when people are voting right when Kobe wins a title, they are going to be biased for him :facepalm

Looking at the entire decade its Shaq, and Kobe is tied for 3rd with LeBron

Cause its easy to be objective on the regular season MVP, people dont judge based on the last 10 games

For player of the decade it was basically player from 2005-2010 since everyone forgot about 2000-2005 :facepalm

When has someone won an MVP just on the last 20-30 games of a season

How is 4 rings and 1 FMVP better than 4 rings and 3 FMVP

How can you be the best player of a decade if you were not a top 5 player in the last 4 seasons of that period?

If this was 1995-05, then the awswer would be clear as day.

"The 2000s (pronounced "two-thousands") was a decade that began on January 1, 2000, and ended on December 31, 2009."

If you remember, I said it still probably is him from 2000-2009 (the actual decade).

My post had nothing to do with that you fool.

When it comes to Kobe popular belief is alright, but when it comes to established years it's not? I guess it really is true that you'll skew anything for him.

2010 is part of the 2010s decade. This is an established custom.

It's much more credible than you saying 'no it's not.'

0 is not a year

2001 was the 2000th year

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Millennium

The original method of counting years was ordinal,[citation needed] whether 1st year A.D. or regnal 10th year of King Henry VIII. This ordinal numbering is still present in the names of the millennia and centuries, for example 1st Millennium or the 20th century, and sometimes in the names of decades, e.g., 1st decade of the 21st century.

Those following ordinal year names naturally choose

2001–2100 as the current century
2001–3000 as the current millennium

Kobe and Duncan are both in the discussion. I'd pick Kobe though. Shaq was done after the '06 season. He did have a comeback season with the Suns, but his defense sucked. Dude was a top 5 player for 6 years (if you include '00). How are you gonna say Shaq was better when he had 6 good seasons to Kobe's 10? :facepalm

PER is a way stronger argument than rings

Okay paul might be better than Lebron for one season

But the rings argument means that horry > kobe

If Tony Parker wins 1 more ring he is = Kobe :oldlol:

Lamar Odom >> Karl Malone

Theres a better comparision with PER than rings

You're telling me its worse to have Chris paul > LeBron than to have Sasha Vujecic over Charles Barkely

You have to be in the same tier for that to work. That's why Hondo is not greater than Michael. But Magic = Duncan. Except Duncan has less finals losess so in reality, Duncan > Magic & Kobe, but it's close, depending on how much we deduct for choking away multiple finals.

That does mean that Russell 2.2 times greater than Jordan, and Kobe 2.5 X Lebron. As for Hondo, he's like 8 X Julius, except we have to give the Doctor .5 for each ABA championship. So only 4 times as great.

But Hondo is 8/0 times greater than Chuck & K. Malone.

Kobe's nearly twice as good as Bird? :oldlol:

Fair enough. So Russell probably has about 7 rings as the man, if we go by his likely FMVPs. Russell 7 X Kobe, which seems about right.

Jordan 6 X Kobe and 3 X Lebron. Formula works.
