Lebron with 22 FT, 10 in the 4th.

And the Lakers were in bad shape at this point in the 06-07 season. So many injuries.

Kobe and PJ were unsure what role he should take after playing such a brilliantly balanced game in the first half of the season.

In order to stop the slide (7-17), Kobe had to revert back to 05-06 mode.

And he did....with a vengeance.

Every version of LeBron has outplayed every version of Kobe

Except for the 2006 version, and the 2009 version, and the 2012 version, and the national team version, and almost every all-star version.

If you watched the video, Kobe played great defense on Lebron, he was just making every contested shot and getting freebies like crazy in that game

Y'all act like Kobe wasn't shit in that game, he was hitting clutch shots left and right...

Plus, Kobe thoroughly outplayed Lebron @ Cleveland

36/7/6 on 50% shooting vs 18/8/5 on 31% shooting

and Lebron's team still won that game by 9 points

but Lebron never had any help :kobe:

They both played great and it came down until the last 40 seconds. Kobe hit a big 3 to pull them within 1 with 35 seconds remaining.

Kobe guards Lebron for the biggest possession of the game and does a good job. He forces him right into Odom for what APPEARED to be a charge, but the refs called it a block and 2 free throws for Lebron.

Lebron makes the first one and misses the second, but Turiaf fumbles away the rebound and Lebron gets the loose ball to seal the game.

Lebron 38/4/3

Kobe 34/5/6

fun game I always enjoyed watching Kobe/Lebron matchups

Nah, kiddo. Kobe was a better player from 2004 - 2008. Once LeBron started playing defense, got a more consistent jumper following that 2008 season, then it was curtains. But before the 2009 season, Kobe was pretty decisively better. More polished, experienced and better defender. Not even arguable to anyone old enough watching ball at the time.
