First black scholarship athlete at UNC, averaged 27 PPG his rookie season in the ABA, and has the PPG single season record (not DR J) at 34.6.

Was drafted by Boston btw, but had an agreement with the Squires in the ABA already.

Just thought it was interesting. Don't recall hearing about this guy. Looks a little like MJ in that UNC photo. Wonder if he would have been better known had he gone to Boston and played with Hondo and Cowens for his career.

Now that I think about it, I have heard the name before. Can't recall the context, though. Maybe while watching some UNC game.
