Skipping training camp?

He is doing that NFL vet move. Show up after training camp. There are plenty of people that don't think he will sign until he sees the teams play for a few months first.

People don't recognize how long an NBA season is. 82 games + 5 preseason +~22 for making the Finals = 109 games

109 games X 48 min = 5232 min (not counting OT)

College is ~40 games for a Championship team.

40 X 40 min = 1600 min

High School is ~32 for Champs.

32 X 32 min = 1024 min

So 1 NBA season is more minutes than 4 years of HS + 1 and Done college. Thats 5 years of hoops in 1 season.

Rayray wants to play but doesn't have that in him.

Why? He only played in a nice destination for 2x years in Miami. Milwaukee, Seattle, and Boston aren't desirable locations for someone with money, or with a great quality of life. LA, Phoenix, Dallas, and Miami for weather / night life.

Waiting to see if a desperate team will throw more than the vet's minimum at him?

Looking to see how the teams form for the easiest shot at another ring?

i just call it as i see it. he's at the end of his career, why not take advantage and live in a cooler city

not like he wont get the same money in NY, Miami, Texas or LA

because playing in a town for a few months doesn't necessarily equate to living somewhere for the rest of one's life? :hammerhead:

Enjoying his vacation. He's probably practicing his 3 points shooting drills.

He's joining a contender in the second half of the season. Most likely Cleveland.

This.

He's only like 70 3-point shots away from passing Reggie Miller on the all time list, he can do it easily in half a season + playoff run. Possibility of a 3rd ring is an added bonus.

He already passed Reggie.

He's really only had the option to choose his place of employment once going to Miami, iirc the rest were trades. And Boston was pretty desirable to him, for the combination of team success, and the proximity to Hartford where he played in college, and his wife's family is from the central CT area.

I also know that Ray's son has pretty serious juvenile diabetes, and health care in his home city has always been a factor for him. Although at this point in his career his family may stay grounded whereever they plan to set up shop for the rest of their lives.

Cleveland is obviously a frontrunner. But I would think a good Clipper team with his buddy Doc Rivers coaching and the life in LA may be another option. Especially if an injury or two take place, or if they move a wing for more frontcourt depth at some point. Maybe that's what's holding him up.

He's making sure Cleveland is legit. As of now he's probably on some beach somewhere getting his ass penetrated by one of his boyfriends.

pulling a pj brown

all that matters is what happens in the playoffs. i think he'd rather just take off the first couple months of the regular season, rest his legs, and sign in february for the playoff run.

Boston is actually a really cool city. there are tons are things to do and so much history.

seattle is also a really cool city, although I cant deal with that much constant rain.

never been to Milwaukee so I wont judge.

I go to Dallas a lot and ill tell you Boston is a lot more fun than Dallas.
