Just to clarify, you're stating that Kobe was the undisputed leader of those teams, correct? That the Lakers' success rested on Kobe, and Kobe alone, right?

Ah! Bummed I missed this one. Been catching random games for weeks then when a modern Pistons classic emerges, I miss it. Bummer. The downhill push toward the end of the 3rd quarter was one of my favorite moments in my basketball viewing life. Those Ben Wallace tip dunks were legit.

Spent that whole series waiting for the Lakers to come back, even in game 5. There were trumpeted so highly coming out of the Western Conference, I thought the Pistons would compete well, but everyone seemed pretty certain of a Lakers sweep that year. I am glad it did not turn out that way.
