Just now on ESPN SC.

Some guy is interviewing Bosh/Wade etc.. on Media Day and after asking the question twice Bosh admitted the Cavs are the favorite. Wade said the "Cavs and Bulls are the best teams on paper".

The Heat never buy in to "favorite" talk even when they ARE the favorites.

QFT. Just saw Wade doing an interview on NBA TV, and he refused to give them a real answer about what constitutes a successful season for the Heat this year. :facepalm Just a bunch of beta lines like "we'll have to see how things go, we will give championship effort every night, bla bla bla"

What are they suppose to say?

Cavs are out of this world stacked.

Not saying they're unbeatable but the ball hasn't been even tipped yet. We have to wait and see.

I want to see the article. Quotes from SunSentinel have Bosh and Wade bullish.

Are you guys better than the Cavs? "Yes"-Chris Bosh

They should be saying that they expect to get back to the Finals, and that they believe they can step up their games to fill the void left by Lebron. That is what any real competitor would say. From the way Wade was talking on NBA TV earlier it seems as if he would be satisfied with merely getting a top 4 or 5 seed in the Conference. With a mentality like this it's no wonder Lebron left them.

Dude, give it up already. You're desperately looking for any reason to take shots when there's just nothing there. It's all mental gymnastics. On occasion you'll make an objective, reasonable point and when you do I acknowledge it. This kinda stuff here though is petty and stupid.

Nope. Miami is a better team than the Cavs. Bosh and Wade are both superstars and the Heat are better because we no longer have to play Lebron ball. There is no way that a 33 win team in the weakest conference of all time that added a ball hog like Lebron is going to get past this Heat team.

Hard to know where the heat will be at.

They should be extremely motivated to prove they can perform without LeBron.

Quite a few changes and we really don't know if deng and Granger are anywhere near the same anymore. Reports say that deng is falling off, who knows about Granger he was buried on the clippers bench last year.

McRoberts should be handy though.

I didn't say the 76ers are better than the Cavs. I said the Heat. How in the world is it trolling to say that a team that went to the finals 4 straight times, has two superstars in Wade and Bosh, replaced James with all-star Deng, and added Granger and McRoberts to replace Allen (Allen might still opt to sign back with Miami) and our elite championship coaching staff is better than a team that just won 33 games, will probably have all sorts of chemistry issues (way more than Miami will have), and plays "Lebron ball"?

Is it trolling to say that the Rockets are better than the Mavs? What about the Spurs and the Thunder?

Am I trolling if I say the Heat are better than the Knicks or Bulls or Pacers?

What if I said: "The Heat are the most stacked team of all time relative to competition." Is that trolling?

Somehow, making sweeping, outlandish assertions in June (such as the Heat are the "bestest" team that ever was) is not trolling. But making a far more principle statement such as the team (primarily the same roster) that is the 4 time defending ECF champions is better than a team that won 33 games last year and has enormous pieces that either have questions marks (coaching, defense) or chemistry concerns for their largest pieces (Love, Irving, and James) THAT is trolling.

I do find it funny that day after day posters came on ISH telling Heat fans how Miami was the "bested team that ever lived" every time Mario Chalmers managed to not turn over the ball, or every time C. Bosh managed to grab more than 6 rebounds, or every time Wade managed to score over 15 points.

That was NOT considered trolling.

But NOW if one says the SAME team (sans James and Allen, but acquired adequate replacements) is better than a Cavs team with all sort of potential problems is better...THAT is trolling. :facepalm

Exactly. This Heat is way under valued and should be able to continue to compete for titles and ESPECIALLY Eastern Conference titles.

The Bulls should say the same thing... the teams out West as well. The Cavs are an unexperienced team, the last thing they need is the pressure of living up to being the best. Lebron joined Wade and Bosh to kind of alleviate pressure (can't say that one worked). Now he has to lead two guys that haven't seen the playoffs yet. Pressure waits for a weak point to expose itself and they don't have the competitive wisdom to compensate right now.

Nah. For the better part of four years "the same nonsense" was pedaled "over and over, trying to prove some point" about James and the Heat. I think I am entitled to remind ISH that this is the same Heat team-sans James- that now people are "pedaling" is at best is a 3rd seed "in the weakest conference of all time."

And keep in mind, I am not CREATING threads "pedaling the same nonsense over and over..." I am responding to posters through ALREADY created threads.

And second, and more importantly, the SAME posters, are now "pedaling the same nonsense over and over..." about James and the Cavs.

I gotta agree with you here. ISH has a very strange set of guidelines about what is trolling and what isn't. Make a thread about Lebron needing the most stacked team in history to win and it is considered rational conversation, but make a thread saying the same thing about Jordan or Kobe and you are a worthless troll who deserves a lifetime ban.

On the first page alone (and we all know when the season starts it will be closer to 10 such threads):

"LeBron James hints he likely would've stayed in Miami had Heat beaten Spurs in Finals"

"Lebron rocking the quadruple sized headband"

Lebron the GOAT Troll: Says He Learned "Patience" in Miami!!!

^^^Under what conditions are these not "flame" type threads? Forget posts (as mine are) These are threads.

When Shawn Marion manages to get a steal and ISH creates 15 threads about about the Cavs being the most stacked roster in the history of the universe...

In fairness we are cracking down on as much as we can.Certain threads you may see as troll threads if they end up being with level headed discussion those threads will remain.

Those that do start flame wars and make troll threads just because they think it’s funny won’t last long. We can only do something about certain posters if we are aware of it. We aren’t always going to be able to catch every comment. We don’t read every thread. It’s up to other posters to make the mods aware of these posters.

When the season starts and if people do act up and create threads after a certain result they won’t stay for long.

We delete plenty of threads each day, luckily there aren't as many since banning power was made available.

Not having balls and being a beta are generally qualities i would attribute to someone who runs from team to team in search of the best teammates he can find, who needs to join his older and more successful friend to LEARN how to win chips because he was incapable of doing it himself, as shown by his first 2 finals performances, and years of playoff failures.

So was the question "who are the favorites to come out of the east" if so favorite is relative to public perception so the question really is " which team do you think people believe are the best" not "who do you think is the best team" this is called semantics
