View Full Version : Does LeBron really flop that much?

Or is it just haters being haters? I don't like Lebron, nor will I ever root for him, but I feel like people blow up his every little flaw to insane proportions.

He has the ball in his hands a lot and he gets to the rim and makes contact a lot, but I don't think he flops anymore than the average NBA player.

Sometimes you have to sell the foul, especially if you're as big/strong as Lebron or Blake Griffin because you aren't going to get the benefit of the doubt if you try and muscle through every bit of contact.

So answer me this, who takes more hard fouls than Lebron? Honest question. Dwight or BG come to mind but I can't think of many others :confusedshrug:

To answer the question, no one takes more hard hits than Lebron. Last season Lebron got punched in the face by Ibaka while dunking and nothing was called! :facepalm That is why I don't blame him for the few times he does flop.

probably poorly. Although sometimes trolls will be confounded when you come out and ask them for their thought process.

No he doesn't. He's just under such a large microscope, that any time he appeared to do so, it be blown so far out of proportion. James gets hacked with no call far more times than he flops.

30-40 times per 3 years is incredibly large amount of flops for a superstar player

Not really. I mean he does flop way way more than Jordan or Kobe, but it's not really an every game thing.

I agree with the bolded, but I don't think either of those guys took as much contact as Bron does (just different styles of play). They have had less opportunity to flop, if that makes sense.

He flops too much given how great a player he is. I think a lot of his exaggerations of the contact are beneath him as a player. But, whatever... it probably gets talked about too much, unless it is a really bad incident like the one against the Mavs in The Finals where he essentially just ran out of bounds and threw his head back while making a move. That was worthy of serious criticism, imo.

He practically invented the no-contact-at-all-flop. As for selling actual contact, he's not that bad.

I don't believe in flopping. Flopping or natural reaction? There is no proof.

He doesn't flop every game, but there's more than enough evidence of him doing so lol. He does sell contact quite often though.

He doesn't flop that often. He does sell contact a lot though but I'm not as bothered by that. To me selling contact is what most players do anyway, Jordan, Kobe, KD, Lebron any of those guys exaggerate contact when hit. It's players like Wade, Manu, CP3, Blake etc who act like they've been hit when there was ZERO contact that piss me off. Lebrons done this at times but he doesn't go crazy with it like some people do.

While your objectivity is very noble, let's not go overboard with it and pretend that Lebron isn't one of the main offenders for flopping. Jordan and kobe didn't take as much CONTACT? Are you KIDDING? Jordan was known for dealing with physical defenses and routinely getting contact when driving to the hole in a handcheck league.

I cannot believe some of the things people say these days, it's like they haven't watched basketball before the year 2000.

Going back to lebron, a lot of YouTube footage of him flopping(posted above), particularly in the playoffs. He might not be the worse, but he certainly does it too much for a superstar.

LeBron is a church goer. Shows his praise for the Lord by throwing his hands up in the air.

Lebron doesn't flop, he just likes to worship during a game :lol

I hope he tones it down this season, it's embarrassing to watch. He started flopping in the playoffs when he was on the Cavs the first time, but I think it got really out of hand in Miami. Probably just Wade rubbing off on him a bit.

Gotta say, I'm kinda convinced a little more towards the Lebron-flops team.

I thought it just seemed like he flops a lot because the Heat (and Cavs) were always on TV. I end up watching a lot of Lebron because his teams get so many nationally televised games.

It gets better.

Pauk is attempting to find flops on Jordan.

I never thought I'd see the day where jordan was accused of flopping

Lebron is a flopper, jordan is a gambler, bird was a deadbeat dad, kobe is a rapist and magic has an obnoxious fggt son. I think magic is the worst offender tbh.

The weird thing is, I really don't remember him flopping much at all during his first seven years with the Cavs. That isn't to say that he would never exaggerate the contact, but the really crazy ones like against the Mavs...

http://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/lebron-flop-3.gif

I feel confident in saying he never did anything close to that prior to going to Miami. In fact, I always considered Wade to be the guy that would drive the lane looking for contact and then exaggerate, moreso than LeBron. But, there's no doubt in my mind LeBron was a worse offender for the last few years, at least in my mind.

Like I said before on this topic, I judge truly great -- all-time greats -- by a different set of standards than I do just a pretty good player or a role player. The all-time greats shouldn't have to resort to that bush league sh!t. It's beneath LeBron and I say that as a compliment. As much crap as I've given LeBron over the years, he is a generational player and he's not judged on the same criteria as a journeyman looking for one last paycheck.

My two cents.

Everybody flops now. They are probably encouraged to do it. Some more than others but most players play up contact and try to get to the line. Does it really matter if one player looks dumber doing it than the other, or does it 3 more times a game?

I use to hate Chris Paul alot because of it but every other game I'd see everybody doing it including Denver players. LeBron flops no more than alot of NBA players, he's just one of those "floppers" people pay attention too and look for it.

**** LeShit, that's the only overrated piece of shitty ass player I hate.. Why?

1. After a huge loss against the Orlando Magic in the Eastern Conference Final, he didn't shake hands to the winning team and bitch out like a crybaby and yet fans still call him "King James?" More like Queen James.
2. A sophomore college kid dunk over LeShit James, and nike confiscated a ****ing tape of LeShit getting dunk over by a Xavier college boy.
3. No kids should look up to LeShit as a role model.
