He now will just be known as that dude that left on his team after talking smack about other players not staying loyal... dude would have had way more respect right now and should have retired a C. Bitch move by the so called "truth" just looks like a lie now.

I can understand him not wanting to finish his career on a team in tank mode, but I don't really get why he went to the Wizards. Surely he sees that they aren't a team that is going to compete for anything of significance in the last couple years of his career.

I get why he went: $10,000,000.00

Why are people so obsessed about players being loyal and retiring with one team? What's important is the man stayed with the team when it matters most, and towards the end of his career made his decision of how he wanted to finish it up. Players have their own personal reasons and ideas to move, so why should we question. Much like Steve Nash, fans wish them all the best nonetheless when they left the team. Pierce will be remembered as a Celtic.

Probably because the celtics want to rebuild and the wizards are paying him more money than he deserves if he's on a rebuild. They are hoping he is the piece to put them in to contention, celtics would just have him as an aging player on a team that just wants to save some cash while they get draft picks

Pierce didn't leave as a free agent. He was traded. He had no control over it and if he had it his way, he would retire a Celtic.

He still might.

The team was in rebuild mode so there was no point the Celtics tying up too much money in the old vets when they weren't trying to win, and they all wanted Pierce to have a chance at another title. Nothing wrong with how they went about it, and Brooklyn isn't a direct rival for Boston (see Ray and the Heat). It was best for everyone, and Pierce's loyalty was repaid with the response he got coming back to Boston :applause:

Jordan part-owner of the team, then played to put asses in seats. More revenue for the team.

Smart move (even though I hated the thought of him in another uniform).

Yeah, he said, "We're trading you. Where would you like to go?"

Not, "Would you like to leave?"

I really don't get what's so hard for people to understand here. Traded is traded.

Ring chase. Looking at how stacked Nets were on paper, I don't blame him.
