Lakers got destroyed in 08 while the Spurs lost because of a miracle three. It's a tough one to decide :confusedshrug:

The Spurs. If Kevin Garnett never got injured, the Celtics were pretty easily going to win back to back championships in 2009. That team was better than the 2008 team with a a season of experience under their belt. They took the Magic to 7 games without KG, their best player. The Lakers basically lucked out. They would have lost to the Celtics again just like they did in 08.

**** LeShit, that's the only overrated piece of shitty ass player I hate.. Why?

1. After a huge loss against the Orlando Magic in the Eastern Conference Final, he didn't shake hands to the winning team and bitch out like a crybaby and yet fans still call him "King James?" More like Queen James.

2. A sophomore college kid dunk over LeShit James, and nike confiscated a ****ing tape of LeShit getting dunk over by a Xavier college boy.

3. No kids should look up to LeShit as a role model.

This gets ignored so many times..

Good question.

Lakers team that beat 2010 Celtics weren't the exact same team.

Spurs were, and straight up dismantled the Heat. I'm going with them

09 Lakers didn't really feel like vengeance. More like the team simply evolved and got better.

2014 was a revenge title.

The Spurs... if not for a Garnett injury in 2008-2009 and not Perkins suspension and AWFUL officiating in game 7 the Lakers lose to the Celtics 3 straight finals.

I feel like you just thought of "LeShit" and thought it was really clever and wanted to use it right away even if it was in a thread that has nothing to do with him

Lakers with the better finals run after the loss... won back to back after losing to the Celtics first the Magic then the rematch with the Celtics...

If the Spurs win their first back to back title this season then we can talk about it.. until then...

should would coulda.. Lakers were there in the finals waiting... not their fault the Celtics didn't show up one year. As for injuries boo hoo everyone fights injuries, not like the Lakers were 100% after 3 straight trips to the finals

The Heat were beat up and tired after 4 straights trips to the finals... Wade is/was a shell of himself why is this not held against the Spurs?

To be honest, I initially glossed over it and your post brought attention to it. Good job there.

Spurs. Just for going through OKC (the team many thought was the bad matchup for them) and Miami (the team they should have beat the season before).

Yeah this. Spurs came back confident and totally whooped the Heat.

09 Lakers won because we got Bynum back and Ariza became a rotation player and completely went off, we were twice as good as the 08 team.

We would have owned Boston in the Finals that year because Ariza would have been killing them all series. Lakers also won both games against Boston in the regular season.

'14 Spurs for sure...I'd put it at a toss-up between the '09 Lakers and '12 Heat.

This is a question about 2009 and 2014, their RUN after the loss... Can you read?

Spurs were dominant in the Finals and their 2014 run is better in terms of spanking the opponent that shouldn't have ousted them in 7 games the year prior, but both had to play 23 games and a win a Game 7 against an opponent that had no business going 7 games against them (Rockets without Yao & T-Mac, 8th seed Mavs)...

Spurs impressed me more because of their team effort and the way they bounced back after the Mavs series, Lakers didn't really face better competition for their 09 title.

2014 Spurs Run IN GENERAL is better, infinitely.. Faced much better competition and spanked it more, while playing like an ATG OFFENSE + DEFENSE team.

I hate the Lakers more than anybody on ISH but what about Bynum and Trevor Ariza being injured? They could have used a healthy Trevor Ariza to help stop Allen and Pierce from going crazy in few of those games and Bynum was playing like an All Star before he went down. Neither the Lakers or Celtics were healthy in that 2010 Finals and the refs were cheating for the Celtics for most of that series

Yep. This really gets glossed over..the only thing I'd say is if Garnett were healthy THAT Lakers-Celtics series would've been the classic and not '10. But the Lakers would've won in '09 though IMO, contrary to popular belief because of that first paragraph, plus the revenge factor.
