Seems like a slew of reality tv style fake high-octane survival shows have cropped up on the various popular Discovery/National Geographic networks that are all faker than a 3 dollar bill. Ever since that Bear Grylls guy came onto the scene with his scripted show marketed as a "survival" series, audiences have been brainwashed into thinking drinking piss and jumping off cliffs (all shit you should not do when trying to "survive") are part of "survival" in the woods. This shit has now become a mainstream form of entertainment. People of ISH, assure me, you know the shit is fake right? Les Stroud's old episodes of Survorman are about as legitimate a survival show as it gets. The rest is fake, not to mention dangerous. Les Stroud was boring as ****, but that's how you do it, you endure, you do not drink piss, run accross open glaciers (really ****ing retarded) and jump off cliffs (really really ****ing retarded). Nor do you waste time and energy making elaborate medieval looking shelters, rafts and rope bridges (impossible without the help of a tv series production team anyways). Please nobody ever try to be like these assholes:

As far as I'm concerned these guys are just another crop of paid actors working a scripted reality tv series.

LOL making a shelter is not "impossible without a TV series production team":facepalm

Getting a raised sleeping area off the ground is one of the most important things in survival. You don't know shit.

The type of shelters, bridges, and boats/rafts you will see being crafted on the show "live free or die" for example, are all of large scale and ridiculous. Swiss Family Robinson meets Gilligans Island workmanship. I'm not talking about some basic ass lean-two or platform to sleep on.

Watched a season of Survivor once. That shit was actually pretty dope but not really an actual "survival show" so I don't know if that counts

I saw the Blood vs. Water season :oldlol:

Guy who eventually won was the best player in the actual game though. Came up clutch in all the challenges, kept finding the idol, and a tight group of allies that were never able to turn on him

I don't know what op is talking about. These are real men. As alpha as it gets. Crafting a flashlight out of sticks and rocks, that's real delta force sh*t.
