Would it receive the credit that it deserves?

Also, imagine how crazier the show would be now in this time period with smartphones, fb, and all these new inventions.

Mofos could be posting a feed on FB saying "Just got back from the gym" from a fake profile and what it would really mean is "I just got back from the stash house... we need a re-up" etc.

Avon would probably never be caught.

depends on how it got released. it could very well take til 2020 for people to see its genius. but who cares, it's a fking tv show.

The Wire was actually based on cop cases from the 80's. Ed Burns who was a co-creator of the show and whose stories gave the Wire its realism retired as a cop in 1991.

The Wire is a fabulous show....I've seen every episode......but it's a show I would never want to watch ever again.

It's too real. Too depressing. It's great and well done, but not fun.

Uhhhh with modern technology that show would be awful. Where's the drama and ethics when McNaulty is legally allowed to do whatever he wants in terms of surveillance?
