:applause: Obi Wan was just so focused and pragmatic, even as Qui Jon's apprentice in Episode 1. He was always wise beyond his years and was fearless in all situations. As a Jedi, he had the best intangibles out of all them even tho young Yoda wasn't really given much material.

Obi went on to become a great leader and friend despite having the place his feelings aside when Anakin turned.

Revan and his story line are pretty cool. I'd probably have to go with Thrawn though. Naga Sadow is cool too , I like a lot of the old republic sith. It's sad that the EU fleshed out so many characters better than the movies and provided some really good characters yet now it means nothing. They should have incorporated things better with the new movies. The boba fett series of novels is pretty good and makes him a really solid character but I don't get why people who haven't read those have him as their favourite, same goes for darth maul he has no back story until you read some novels and comics.

Yeah, he's one of the best characters in film History period, not just villains (not counting the prequels). His arch is amazing- starts out a this ruthless embodiment of pure evil, slowly he's revealed to be something more by the end of Empire, then by the end of ROTJ he's this almost sympathetic tragic Shakespearean character.

Beautifully written character.


What Lucas did to the character in the prequels is a disgrace.

This. hopefully Abrams doesn't continue the butchering. I have some faith in him at least. The prequels were just a vacuous, shameless money grab by Lucas who was the poster boy for corporate sellouts at that point.

Anakin was an insanely talented jedi fighter in Star Wars 3. Honestly the only reason he probably did not become a jedi master is because the elders of the council realized he still has anger, impatience, and he was young. I remember Obi Wan Kenobi saying he was already a better Jedi than Obi Wan will ever be but he is still young and needs to learn patience. If Anakin never gets destroyed by the molten lava during his Darth Vader transformation and he was patient, we are talking about a GOAT Dark Jedi turn Sith Lord.

Anakin had way more potential than he showed in Star Wars 3. He was supposed to eventually be way more powerful than any other Jedi Master. I do actually think if Mace Windu and him faced Sith Lord Palpatine and Anakin didn't have the biased of saving him, the Jedis would win. Anakin would eventually go on to be a great Jedi Master but I do believe his desire for dictatorship shown throughout the 2nd and 3rd film, that he may have recreated the Sith or at least a Dark Jedi mold. The death of his mother definitely was the reason for a lot of his deep seeded hatred.

I never read the book but I heard Luke Skywalker was considered bar none the most powerful Jedi ever seen. So was he considered a Jedi with even more potential than his father?

I would say Luke definitely had more self discipline and wasn't as emotionally unbalanced as Anakin. Anakin was such a caring person for his Master, Obi Wan but love blinded him with Padme as well as the hate of not becoming a Jedi Master.

If Palpatine wasn't involved with Anakin throughout his life as a Jedi, I do think he had the potential to destroy the Sith. He made quick work of Count Dooku who from what I have heard from Star Wars fan was a more talented Jedi with the force especially in comparison to the Sith Lord Obi Wan killed, Darth Maul. And personally I think he would be able to kill General Grievous, lets be honest, Obi Wan was no where near as quick or as talented with the lightsaber as his apprentice. Thats why the fight at the end of the movie always made me skeptical because throughout the rest of the movie, they show Anakin had way more talent but all of a sudden, Obi Wan matches it?

If he was a patient fellow and the elders on the council weren't so concerned about his mentality, this probably would have earned him at least the trials for being a Jedi Master.
