I don't feel like getting into semantics, but no, T-Mac in 2013 for example wouldn't qualify. I'm referring to players who never got even marginal playing time in the Finals

Maybe Steve Nash. IDK this is a tough one. Oscar never made the finals while he was still in his prime.

Maybe Steve Nash. IDK this is a tough one. Oscar never made the finals while he was still Oscar.

Nah, Oscar was still a great 2nd option. He counts.

George Gervin, Dominique Wilkins, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, Steve Nash, Pete Maravich, and Chris Mullin are all good candidates.

Melo with a slight edge.

Arguably still a top 5 player in the league.

He orchestrated the best offense in the league. Bucks surged like 8 SRS from the previous year without Oscar - not that Oscar was worth 8 SRS, but he was a big part of it - and he was a great leader on both ends of the floor. Even on defense he was important as a pseudo on-court-coach.

Chris Webber deserves a mention.
