I am a masculist. We need to unite. I believe we can truly save this world.

A significant portion of ISH is based on some of the views expressed here. Whether they will admit to it or not.
Also the vast majority of the influential/powerful on earth.

masculinity already has a broad coalition to rebut feminism. it is know colloquially as the Mens Rights Movement. and apart from the few reasonable double standards and holes it punches into feminist thought, it's almost entirely a huge waste of *********ory time.

I'm not sure men's rights advocates have any legitimate points. Feel free to enlighten me, but there isn't any I'm aware of.

there is sort of a men's right movement going on in the world of domestic relations court. Custody battles, divorce, etc.

as i said its mostly poking at double standards. like say men paying for dinner on dates. shit like that. though hell there are probably legitimate points far more important than how to split up the dinner bell... none come to mind off hand atm.

That's a social convention that nobody is forcing anybody to take part in. It's completely voluntary. You don't want to pay for dinners? Ok, don't.

yes you're right. there's nothing legislated there. hmm
i'm sure certain equal pay measures that approximate the affirmative action model would be a plausible example of mens rights activists taking on issues with an actual legal/political basis.
there must be others? there are like thousands of different tidbits of nonsense that MRA's talk about. at least a few of them have some legitimacy.

That's not a men's rights issue. That's a matter of disagreeing with certain groups having special rights.
The "women don't get equal pay" myth has been exhaustively debunked. There's no reason why women need special rights legislation in this area.

no, its a Men's Rights issue. meaning there are self identified Men's Rights activists who believe it's important and meet with one another to make a difference. the women dont get equal pay "myth" (to reverse the skepticism in your quotations) has not been exhaustively debunked and i'm going to go out on a limb and suggest you have done no reading whatsoever on the actual economics and social repercussions of the pay divide between genders. i haven't read up on it a ton either but i'm not naive and dogmatic enough to believe its a total non-issue.

You are sorely mistaken. It is factually a myth. Numbers don't lie.
Is it true that in general men make more than women? Yes. Is it true that in America women make about 77% of the amount of money men make? Yes. That's where the "77 cents on the dollar" myth comes from.
The real question..... are these appropriate comparisons? No, they aren't.
Here is the truth. Women with EQUAL education and EQUAL experience who have the same job make just as much as men. (these women actually make slightly more, but it's about equal).
There are a lot more women who work part time. Part time work obviously doesn't pay as much as full time work.
Men do make more money than women. That's true. The MYTH though is that women get payed less for THE SAME work. That is just not factually true.

:oldlol: The wimmins don't want no dirty jobs. Their lust is to hold the big powerful positions and rule over the man. The woman is the reason all you mongrels are in the wicked, sinful state that you are now, and that's why she was punished with great pain during childbirth. The man was given dominion over the land and all the animals.

Labeling oneself masculist (if that's even a real term) screams insecurity and fear of castration.

Exhibit A ^
..of how society tries to brainwash the male. While one may think they are secure with themselves but the truth of the matter is they are brainwashed in believing that they don't need to express and speak on the matter.
Remember, a silent male is an obedient male. Keeps to himself and follows societal norms which they imposed on him at an early age. Those norms is not what our grandfathers or fathers grew up with.
For me to speak up on it doesn't mean I am insecure but merely putting it out there so people don't forget what it's like to be a male.
I was once asked by a girl what my interests are and I politely told her I was into racing my car on weekends, love vintage motorcycles, working out and basketball. She proceeds to tell me that I am very masculine. I thought all men did this, I tell her.

The societal norms of yesteryear were mostly horseshit for everyone that wasn't a white Christian male. Sorry, no sad song for you--the violin stays in its case.
