Ok I agree with you but I felt that his voice always made his rap more aesthetically pleasing to hear than Lil Wayne singing about the same stuff over and over again. I weep for society since we ignore true rappers like Immortal Technique and we glorify rappers who probably have an IQ of a peanut.

Intelligence by its nature is exclusive. Only a certain amount of people can have an above average intelligence. Most people will not care about intelligent rap, because most people are not intelligent. But most people do like having sex, most people do feel lonely, etc. People like Akon will always be more popular than people like Immortal Technique.

How have you been a member this long on this forum and not know anything about what happened in the gif?

Anyways, some 15 year old kid threw something at Akon when he was on stage(or at least Akon thought he did), so he called the kid on stage. The kid was all happy and smiles to be getting on stage with Akon until Akon picked him up and threw him off. He broke something on his body when he landed, an arm maybe I forget. Anyways, the kid's family sued the shyt out of Akon.

He was mostly terrible. I'd say that his mainstream breakthrough was the turning point of hip hop becoming Disney-fied. It was when rappers became valued more as autotuned boy-band idols instead of what they were in the past (just compare him to nas and try not to laugh).

Luckily, Lil B came along and saved the rap game.
