Who would you choose in a draft? Who is the better player?

Manu was better until like 2011 I think. Parker until last year. Now it's a toss up.

Maybe last year was just a bad year for Parker, it would be weird if Ginobli is better than him again.

Overall Manu, no question.

If many could stay healthy it'd be him.. but because he can't it's really a tossup. Both HOF'S though.

I take Parker:

Peak: Pretty close, but Parker was getting legitimate MVP talks multiple seasons.

Prime: This is really hard to measure. Ginobili had a lot of injuries, which limited his primes.

Longevity: Parker takes this easily. Parker was great right from the start (he averaged 17.2 PPG in his first playoff series as a rookie against GP and Seattle in the 5-game win). We remember 2003 G6 when Claxton came in and hit a few big shots, but Parker really didn't have many bad series (go back and look at his numbers). He was the second option right from the beginning.

Accolades: Ginobili has the edge internationally with the Olympic gold and Parker has the edge in the NBA with the FMVP and All-Star & All-NBA selections.

Intangibles: Ginobili has the edge here. His energy and unorthodox play is practically unmatched. Parker has an amazing ability to draw defenses and create offense as well as having the practically unguardable floater and his patented spin (which he does better than anyone in NBA history).

For one game, I'd take Manu - big game player, clutch, does multiple things well. When Manu's playing well, the Spurs are special - makes everybody better. He just lifts their spirits like nothing else. But injury-prone and can't play long minutes.

For a season, I'd take Parker - he's a workhorse, rarely injured, does exactly what Pop tells him to do. I hope that he'll move over for Kwahi as Duncan did for him.

Parker is the better player. He been more vital to team success than Manu. Manu is too inconsistent and injury prone.

The elite SG, it's far harder to find a quality SG with playmaking ability than a really really good PG. Both are beasts but.

Manu, dude has a better case for 2005 finals mvp than parker had for 2007 in my eyes. Duncan should've probably won both with that being said.

I don't think you can argue one to be significantly better than the other. They are VERY different and VERY good players.

No way
Parker was toying around with the Cavs that whole series. He led them in ppg and APG :facepalm

Duncan was anchoring the defence which did a damn good job of keeping LeBron out of the paint. Duncan's impact was far greater than Parker's.

Ginobli obviously.

I don't think anyone scares me more and can completely dominant a game more than Ginobli except for Kobe.

Plus in 08-09 when Ginobli was out, the Mavs destroyed the Spurs.

I guarantee if it was Parker who was out and not Ginobli, the Spurs would've won the series.

No he doesn't Duncan deserve his MVP in 05. He was the team leading rebounder and scorer for the series along with his defense. Parker straight up killed the Cavs in 07 25 ppg on 57% shooting awesome stuff.

It a reason why Manu became a sixth man for the Spurs due to the fact he better suited and he was just too erratic at times.

Manu is a significantly better player than Tony
when they were healthy Tony was only better in 2012 and 2013

Manu doesnt get benched in 4th quarters for Patty Mills or Spedy Claxton
