This. Ray Allen is nothing more than a name at this point. He looked done for huge portions of last season, but Spo continued giving him playing time he honestly didn't deserve. Hopefully Blatt has more balls than Spo, and makes his players earn their minutes.

It's not like there isn't precedent for Dion being a tremendous catch-and-shoot player. I'm not sure why there is the perception of him being a poor or average shooter in those situations.

Last season, Waiters made 41.6% of his catch-and-shoot threes. For context, Danny Green made 41.5% of his catch-and-shoot threes last year. Now, Green put up one more attempt per game for the season than Dion, but that does show you that Waiters can really knock down those shots... and he hasn't just done it in the preseason.

Also, based on what I've seen so far, Dion is a better shooter this year than he was last year, so that already really good, borderline elite number could go up.



This Cavs team has legitimate catch-and-shoot threats at 4 of the starting 5 positions... and then they have Miller, Jones, Harris and Marion coming off the bench... potentially Ray Allen too.

No one knows how this team will look once the season actually starts, but they have the personnel to be the best shooting team in the league.
