My dream show would be David Simon writing a gritty realistic drama series set in Jerusalem that tries to show all sides of conflict. It can follow soldiers, club owners, old men, Palestinian kids in school.
7 seasons. The cast is made up of the best Arabic and Israeli actors and dialogue is spoken in Hebrew and Arabic, with subtitles.
It would basically be The Wire set in Jerusalem and more epic.

a good locke & key tv series that isn't rubbish like all the comic book adapted tv shows seem to be, one that followed the comics and wasn't afraid to be gritty. That or a Y: the last man series in the same vein.

I could never watch a show set in Israel. It's just not the kind of accent you can listen to. It's not cool sounding like an Irish accent or something. Subtitles is not even an option.

1. A really good sci-fi series like a high quality version of Ender's Game or Foundation series.
2. Show about Wall Street in the 80's on HBO. Probably centered around a fake Carl Ichan type dude who is a corporate raider.
3. Comedy about a guy who lost his company in the 2000s tech bubble burst who takes a job at an emerging start-up in Silicon Valley just so he can be there to watch it all crumble.

The wire took place in the same tv universe as the x-files so it could happen! lol

Who wants to watch a bunch of teenagers cry about their "real" drama?
Or are you joking?
It was called My So Called Life and no one really liked it the first time.

no im serious
i mean yea it would suck if it just jumped from teenage pregnancy to cheating on a test to love triangle to whatever else. that's like degrassi. and you can either do a shitty job with those stories and teenage girls will like it if the cast is attractive enough, or you can do a good job with those stories and everybody will be bored out of their mind.
but i think using a high school or university as a backdrop for a more serious sequence of events that aren't everybody whining but rather quite improbable... well i just think it could make for really engaging television.
maybe i just have a hunch that when written well kids can make for the most engaging on screen characters. it's done so infrequently.
or maybe i'm just a rank sentimentalist.
edit: just reading about my so called life... forgetting that nobody really liked it when it first aired for whatever reason, did you like it? it seems pretty nifty and was well received critically.

Claire Danes is hot, but all our girl-friends at the time were insufferable with the show and especially Leto; so it's hard to separate the two.

Maybe an adapted extended series of the Stephen King novel, "IT" directed by David Fincher.
Have the first season or two maybe (6 or 8 episodes) deal with the Losers Club and their first encounter with Pennywise, show the adult period and their Final Encounter with It.
The third season and fourth season would deal with the past appearances of Pennywise in Derry as described in the History segments of the novel. Add in some material to fill it out so the pacing is similar to the first segment.
Have a crazy, out there fifth and maybe sixth season before the formula gets too stale set in the near future with some noticeable differences from modern times where Pennywise unexpectedly in a rebuilt Derry, Maine. All new material- WRITTEN BY STEPHEN KING.
End it with a bang before it gets lame, watch it get critically acclaimed. Leave em wanting more

I'd like to see a show about the Soviet Era.
6 seasons in total. Two seasons about the formation in 1922, 1 seasons set in World War 2, 1 season set during the Cold war and finally ending the show with it's demise which lasts for the remaining 2 seasons.
Personally I think it would be fascinating. Similar to the Wire in format.

Those last two sound like great ideas. Yeah Wall Street was like incredibly abused by big shots until the crackdown circa 1985.

Great idea but I think that would need one hell of a budget though.

y not nekkid?
Americanized version of James Bond all 12 episodes directed by Quentin Tarantino (similar to Sodenberg directing The Knick)
Would last 5 seasons
It would have a Game of Thrones budget.
James Bond would be played by Michael Fassbender
Bond Villain would be played by Daniel Day Lewis, Jeffrey Wright, Michael C. Hall, Jon Hamm, Idris Elba
Bond Girls would be hot as f*ck..
On HBO so that it be Rated R Bond and not some censored material.

mine would be survivalists going head to head, to see who can survive out in wherever longer starting out with nothing. and they can fight, take stuff from each other, and be ruthless.
