I wanted this to have it's own seperate thread. I understand there is a NBA 2k15 discussion thread, but that's just general discussion of the game. If this thread isn't used, then i'll just let it die.

My player is a 6'8 SF for the Atlanta Hawks. Hawks had 99% interest in me, and they had no back up SF.

I have spent most of my points in shooting, inside shots, and rebounding.

I average 8.6/2/6 a game. I have serious trouble scoring so I only shoot when open. My career high so far is 18 points. I average 41% FG and 33% from 3.

I play hall of fame, simulation style so it's actually pretty tough. Only thing I don't like is that it looks like the Hawks are gonna miss the playoffs, currently 22-30.

On my second ten day contract, 1 game left. Gonna play all day tomorrow on my day off. Games go by rather quickly I noticed, and I play 12 minute quarters. I expect this to change after I start. I'm currently 8th in the rotation.

See youtubers nailing some ridiculous shots and I don't understand how.

Anyways, my overall is currently 69, and so far I'd say my career has gone alright. P.S: Hall of fame difficulty gets you insane amount of VC per game!

6"10 pf on orlando. 2 games left in my second 10 day contract. I'm averaging 12pts 5rbs and a block with most of my skill points in inside shooting athleticism and play making. Just scoring in the post or beating slow or poor defenders off the dribble for driving dunks. Evrrything feels improved gameplay wise so far, timing rebounds makes more sense, blocking works better and I dont just jump next to a guy shooting without trying to block now and the way defense playing too close or slow works with blow bys is so mich better and easier to understand now. In the last game I had to break ankles or dribble in wide circles to get by people now if their slow or too close I can just get by with pace and having them on the wrong foot like a real person.

dont know if it's just my game but its odd how many ankle injuries there are. In the 10 or so games I've played elfrid payton, channing frye and andrew nicholson all have a broken ankle

7'0 PF 270 lbs trying to get him like Hakeem.

I created a 6'6 195 lbs SG last night after getting worked on the Park by SFs and guards. Gonna try to build him after MJ and Kobe.

Once you create a 2nd player you can skip through cut scenes.

Both players play for the Suns. PF had a 80% interest from Suns and SG had a 99% interest.

Problem make a 6'0 PG and build him after myself soon. Not sure what team I'm gonna go for though. Maybe Pacers.

Getting the game tomorrow after school, and planning to play a lot of MyCAREER.

I'll be making a 6'4", 200 lbs PG from Ireland, with my face scanned too. I don't know who I'm going to tryout for, don't even know what happens much in MyCAREER except for going undrafted as I don't want anything to be spoilt, but right now I'm thinking of the Bucks so I can play with young studs like Giannis and Jabari, the Hornets, the Pelicans, and hell, maybe the Mavericks or Rockets. At first, I said I was gonna try out for the Timberwolves, but it seems like everybody and their mother wants to play with Wiggins and LaVine.

You go undrafted because you end up in prison for being at a party with drugs around, while in prison you play a round robin against guys who try to fight you and flagrant foul, someone in there with you approaches after the game and tells you he used to be an agent, you get released he becomes your agent, you then get to try out for an NBA team, when you turn 30 one of the guys you made fun of in the prison stabs you in the arena hallways after a game, then you get the hall of fame cut scene. They went all out with the storyline, there's romances and betrayals it's like a soap opera.

just kidding

Did you do anything to cause your save to go? I don't mean anything that was your fault just what circumstances led to it or was it totally just turn on the console and it's gone? Trying to avoid it myself lol

Okay, I have been no lifing the game recently.

I'm now averaging 18/2/11. I'm 3/4 done with my first season.

Simming all the the games that give you only less than 200 VC.

4th place in for ROTY.

Yep I do the same thing. Only skip the sub 200 games. Also, be sure to play the game on Hall of Fame difficulty. It doesn't seem any harder than All-Star to me, and you get a 2x VC bonus. I can pull 800-1000 VC per game with only 6 min quarters.

Played my first starting game on my shooting guard just then against the rockets. Got into a fight with Harden before the game and ending up we ended up beating them and picked up 20pts 4rbs 8asts which is my highest assists so far. The post game still had a guy question me about how much the offence went through me which is odd because I shot 75%, had 8 assists and 1 turn over. So I laid into the guy about being stupid and got a mind games badge for being aggressive lol.

What difficulty y'all playing on?

My SG is only averaging like 6-7 ppg I only get about 5 mins of pt though. My PF average about 10-12ppg with like 4 rpg.

I'm having a hard time taking over games and scoring. My shot is booty too.

@Outbreak What style is your SG?

Decided to tryout for the Hornets because of their sick jerseys/warmups and home court, and because they've got a pretty good team with Stephenson, Jefferson and Vonleh. It sucks though because Big Al, who was averaging 18 and 12 and won Player of the Week at the start of the season, is out for the whole season with a ruptured achilles, so our team is definitely not as good now.

We're playing better though than before I arrived. Their record was 15-31 when I arrived, and in the games I've played, we're 4-4. Just got a guaranteed contract for the rest of the season, and averaging something like 8 PPG, 2 RPG, 2 APG. Having trouble getting assists right now.

Averaging like 7/2/2 for the Raps as an undersized SG. Going to try to play like an Iverson type combo guard which is working well since the team actually looks for me to bring the ball up and create offense quite often, but the teammates AI is a ton better than in the past before since they don't rely on me making all the plays, the changes to freelance offense per team really helped.

Just got my first badge, Spark Plug. Think it's a popular one, pretty easy to get. Just got my second ten day contract, only 3 games this time around after 6 last contract so better make them count though.

Finished my rookie season on my SG. Averaged 22pts 3ast per game. One thing I don't like is that I couldn't find a way to view the rosters during free agency or even players stats/team results after my final game. Went straight into like 10 cut scenes back to back then into me picking a team. I resigned with the Wolves but now I can see the roster I see they've drafted another SG (I'm better so I'll start but still they have me, martin and a 75 ovr rookie) whereas the Magic who I considered going to have drafted a really high 70s 7"2 centre so If I'd known that I may have signed there.

I've also started a 6"8 small forward on the magic, 1 game left on my second 10 day deal. Not sure what actually sets it but he is a raw perimeter shooter which is what I wanted my 2 guard to be. It's odd because my 2 guard has 80 something for his 3pt rating but still misses wide open threes yet my small forward has 75 for his 3 point rating yet is considering a perimeter player and knocks down contested threes like lay ups....

How annoying are most of the cutscenes though? Every character is annoying and the "humble" options are ****ed up.

After spending about 4 days on My GM mode (now level 105 and real life rookies are retiring), decided to finally get into this. Originally had a 6-3 SG and was going to do it GOATbrook style, but after playing with some of the auto-generate rookies, one reminded me so much of TMac that I had to recreate him.

So a 6-8 SG, inspired by McGrady. I spent 2 hours last night going through every animation and buying the accessories to get exactly what I wanted. Only did the tryout for Phoenix.

Wanted to go to NY, but it wasn't available. Then I thought maybe Detroit until I came to the conclusion that I must wear FroBe 8. Looked at the rosters and went down the list... Dinwiddie wears 8 in Detroit, Felix wears 8 in Utah, Frye wears 8 in Orlando, Deron wears 8 in Brooklyn... And then Phoenix was my next choice.

It's a shame the game doesn't have the Dragic/Bledsoe backcourt. I'm told all I need to do is beat out Zoran and Goodwin.

They need different voices btw. Switched to my computer monitor and put on the subtitles. I can't listen to that retarded Rocky wannabe anymore.

Shit, getting assists is hard. I'm only a 68 overall, but I've been scoring 15-20 points every game now, but still getting more rebounds than assists most games as a PG. It's especially hard on Hall of Fame, as your teammates just pass the ball back to you or don't shoot at all.

Why did they take out the mid game assignments? Like make a comeback, or don't let your opponent score...that was fun and broke the monotony.

Also, it's annoying that I have to view the last play before getting subbed in. I already have the option to watch game from bench, this brings nothing to the table. And it's also the same play everytime too, they post the center on the left block and he scores.

Also my 7'2 centre legally changed his name without letting me know, from Del Phonic to Mac Powell Jr.

Weird.

While I'm finding it harder to get assists I find they have fixed up players passing back to you in this game. Driving and dishing actually works for me now, in the previous game I'd drive throw it to an open shooter/big man and they'd just stand there dribbling until defense resets. They actually try and score now. Pick and rolls feel harder to run now though, in the last game I could get 15 assists a game just running pick and rolls with my bigs but my shooters got no points. Maybe the shooting/passing back depends on whos on your team and the teams current scheme though, I find on the wolves guys like Wiggins, Pekovic, Young, Lavine, Brewer all seem happy to shoot/drive off my passes as they catch them.

I think pass timing really matters now. When you hit them in stride or in a scoring position, the cpu is always going up with the shot for me. Whenever I make the occasional dumbass pass is when they just stand there and do nothing, even if there's a slight opportunity to score.

Drawing free throws is really easy now is what I noticed. Also there are a shit load of moving screens called. Not even on me. Like 9/10 are on the computer and I see 5-7 a game in my (listed) 14 mpg in My Career.

Bah, the Suns. One Morris twin can shoot and the other one bricks everything. I can't tell them apart.

What do I do about rebounds constantly hitting my guy in the hands and bouncing off? Improve rebounding stat? Is it my timing?

Dragic is booty. Would rather play with Thomas or Bledsoe at point.

I noticed this as well even in my 22 minutes a game.

Happens way too often. It's a bit better now that they actually call them on you if you move while setting the screen which makes it harder to just spam screens all the time for skill points but the NPCs get called too much.

My small forward on orlando just dropped 51pt 9rbs 6asts in his first start. Once you get hot with a 3 point shooter it becomes easy to just drop 3 after 3. Went 5 of 5 from down town. With 3 being contest catch and shoots in a row in the fourth once I was hot.

Before work I made a centre to try out how big men play. He's a 7"1 and just got a 10 day contract with the pelicans hoping to pair up alongside Davis. I had some skill points from my other characters so he's already rated low 70s and is listed as an interior defender now even though most of his points are in athleticism and inside scoring.

MyCareer is addictive, i have a 6'1" PG, pure shooter, Ray Allen's stroke, spending everything on shooting. I sucked so bad at the first scrimmage/try out :( How long quarters do you guys play? I would ofcourse like 12, but just takes to long.

Just recently made a 6'0 PG. Tried out for the Mavs, but that shit was too hard.. I needed to get an A- or A, so obviously I didn't get the contract.

Tried out for ORL right after that and got 2 10 day contracts before I made the team. So far, I've been upgrading my shooting and playmaking only.

Also, Ive been trying out a few different forms and cant get one to stick with... Any suggestions on a form that's got a nice quick release?

Loving this mode tho.

I chose Nash's release and found it merely OK. Decided I wanted something with more lift (easier to time the release, imo) and a quick release. Eventually settled on Westbrook. I noticed I kept releasing early, so I went with something even quicker. Interestingly enough, Kidd's release seems to hit the spot. I wish you could test the releases before you buy them tho. There's a couple I want to try and I'm too lazy to start a regular game with them.

Still in my first season. 76 rated SG and I think it said scorer? Pretty sure there was an adjective in front of scorer, as my style. Something scorer. In the beginning of May right now and I skipped one game to see how he would do. He was shit. I think I can still win ROY so I'm just going to play it out. 2 PPG less than Parker, virtually even on the rest except I shoot much better from the field and average more blocks.

Pretty fun. I'm a bit annoyed how I can't make a standing layup to save my life and while I never miss a jumper in the practice, I miss everything in games. Passing, rebounding, and defense seems on point. I actually really like playing defense this year in my player. Chase down blocks are much more frequent and you can block dunks!

Not huge on the upgrade system. The pairings don't make much sense to me. I don't get the purpose of removing customizability of your player. If I want to make a big who can only shoot 3s with no middle game then why can't I? There's players like that in the NBA right now.

Finally started playing in My Park. Went with the middle one. I forget the name; there's smoke stacks in the background and it was +athletic and rebounding. The delay makes playing defense incredibly difficult. Also I still can't make wideopen, uncontested, standing layups, but I like the concept of the game mode. Been playing the last couple hours and got a few decent win streaks with strangers. Surprisingly not too many terrible players jacking up 3s and forcing their dunks all game.

Oh and I've been messing with teamup since it's been my favorite game mode since release. ****ing terrible. What happened to random teams? Is it always the Cavs at home vs... Was it OKC? Same arena, same jerseys, and you can choose your own players? What the ****. I want to be stuck with a Luke Walton, not face Kyrie/Jordan/LeBron/Love/Al Jeff every single game. Or the West is usually CP3 (or Steph), FroBe/Kobe, Durant, someone and Dwight. Played a good 5 games and it was basically the same lineups every game. Ugh. I suppose it's to keep people from quitting since they get their star player. Well.. Everyone still quits. Guess I'm only playing Parks this year.

Has anyone won ROY yet? Both the guys I have who have played their rookies years and the 2 I have who are close to the end weren't even on the race for it. Even though one of them led all rookies in points, assists, steals and blocks and led the entire league in fg% he still wasn't even on the award race.

I have too much trouble picking which player to keep playing though that's my biggest frustration.

8 more games left in my rookie season. Definitely going to miss the playoffs.

Some observations:

-If the computer does that mid range running fadeaway, it always goes in. I don't care if it's Kendrick Perkins coming of a Shamgod move. It always goes in.

-The computer makes everything in HOF mode. It's so ****ing annoying to play defense to the shotclock and they drill a fadeaway 3pter. Happens multiple times a game... They just don't really miss unless you weakside defend every shot. BTW, I'm getting about 5 blocks a game because of that.

-...Well, they make everything for the opposing team. Apparently my team likes to go down double digits every time I get subbed out.

-Which of course means I'm losing almost every game. It's impossibly difficult to make a big impact imo. The other game I had 24 points, 18 rebounds, 6 assists, 6 blocks, 3 steals and my team loss by 20+. My last win I needed a 30/15/15/5 blocks game to win by 3. Insane.

-So when I do I get to sleep with the PR lady?

-Loving the little random events. DMC shit talking to me before the game? Awesome. In a PC I get asked about my next contract, I tell them I'm looking to get paid, the reporter has a snarky comment after my answer, and the PR lady almost fights him. Random practice stuff like the around the world mini game. Good shit.

-Found a new release I'm really liking (although lately I've been shooting awful in games). Rose's release.

-Not sure how the FA works, but I think now I want to go to LA and replace Kobe. Tho the interest is near the bottom of the list when I checked (~40%).

Ik this irrelevant but I used to do nba 2k11 my career. I stopped when I was rated 69 (by accidentally saved over the account for another my career player). I was averaging around 28/6/4 with ORL and it took me about 25 games to start over Vince Carter. We were like 19-6 and we destroyed like 5 teams in a row and then we played the Heat. So much shot clock cheese and no fouls called in the paint. I've heard 2k15 is kind of like that is that true? Chris Smoove complains about how many no calls he gets.

We were down by about 7 points to the Kings with around 2 minutes left, and I hit three consecutive shots, and a big three at the end to send the game to overtime. I was on fire, we got the win and I ended the game with a stat-line of 33 points, 9 rebounds, 5 or 6 assists and 4 blocks. Shot about 60% from the field too. I prefer having jump shots that aren't used by a player since they're free and it sounds stupid, but it feels better when you find your own jump shot. I found a really good one, it's somewhere in the 20s with quick release. I'll tell you what exact one it is when I'm playing later tonight if you want?

I simmed one to see how he would do. I've played all the others. 9 minute quarters. When my guy gains the ability to make wide open layups and jumpers, I'll probably dip it to 8 minutes since I can put up 20+ without those two abilities already.

Might reduce the sim length. Hard to tell because my team keeps getting curb stomped and some games the final score is like 92-60, but I want to balance my individual stats relative to the average score with lesser minutes. So maybe 20 ppg ends up the leader, except that's the equivalent of 30 ppg as teams are averaging 80-something. Because I don't want to play long games all the time or I won't get far in this mode.

Anyone know how far into the career these storylines go? I was just reintroduced to Jackson Ellis, what's up with the high school coaching always showing up?, etc... I presume not too far because not many people are going to finish their entire career unless they sim everything.

Just got named a starter for the Raps and gained the pet move size up and enforcer badge. Funny that I got the enforcer badge as I am a 6'3 SG but I'm always slashing to the bucket, getting to the line and am agressive for steals and blocks. Averaging like 9/3/3 on 45/40/85 percentages in 17 minutes but I'm surprised I got named a starter so early. Had my best career game prior to being named a starter, 24/6/4. Just played the Bulls. I'm playing on Superstar/Simulation but I changed it back to Superstar/Default after the shit-fest that happened there. They literally made every single shot while I was in the game, and every time I passed the ball to my teammates, they'd miss the shot, whether it was wide-open or not. I really cannot wait to get out of Charlotte, but I'm playing every game right now since it's my rookie season. There was one point in the 3rd quarter where we only scored 2 points in 5 minutes, and I'm dead serious they hit every shot.

Ended with 20/4/4, but we still lost by 30. I don't think anyone else even got double-digits points :facepalm

Also, I'm using Release 27 and Quick Release if anyone wants a good jumpshot. I always get at least slightly early/late, and my J is only rated in the low 70s right now. When I get it up to the 80s and 90s, I should be hitting perfect release every time.

It seems to be random across all consoles from what I can piece together from news articles about it. I had no issues during it's first week or so at all while others were having problems. I guess I should be happy I can even connect a lot of people can't connect at all still even after ronnie2k announced they had fixed the server issues.

Just finished the regular season, and nope. Didn't even make an all rookie team. I guess we don't play enough games to qualify.

Mixed feelings here. I haven't checked the standings because I don't really give a ****. My team wins like 4 of their last 6 going into the last game of the season and we're sitting on 35 wins for the season. I figure no way that's making the playoffs.

Long story short: comeback from 16, my guy hits a transition 3 to tie the game, Blake gets blocked with 5 seconds left, I take it coast to coast to win at the buzzer and I find out that pushed us in a 3 way tie for the 8th seed, and we own the tie-breaker.

I want to go to my new team already... I didn't even want to play this last game today, but I figured I might as well finish the season. Ugh, now to shock the world (or more likely get swept and waste 3 hours of my life).

You know what I'm really enjoying are the player tendencies shining through in this game.

In the past versions, it's always felt to me like a game of 5v5 pickup with whatever NBA teams are being used. Now I haven't really played any actual games except about 4 on MyTeam and the Spurs vs Heat installation one, but I've really noticed player specific stuff in MyCareer.

I'm a SG who rarely plays SF. When I play the Warriors, I always have to chase Klay out to the 3pt line on fastbreaks. The other players I'm stopping them in their lanes. Klay is bombing fastbreak 3s over my head. They nailed Melo, and he's a bitch to guard. Easily the most difficult player I've had to check. Jab stepping pullups, post up fadeawys, that baseline drive he always does in real life. Pain in the ass.

Even with Noah. I ended up on the Bulls after the FA (was going LA, but Chicago offered me almost 100 more a game and a better situation) and they are always using Noah in the high post. Back when I was on the Suns, if Plumlee got the ball there then it would be a handoff to one of the guards or a pass to a 3pt shooter 10/10 times. In the two games I've played for the Bulls, Noah has been creating off some high-low game with Gasol and it's great to watch.

Created a 6'6 SG. Joined Orlando since there are many scrubs there, faster chance of my player to become a star. 4 games in,1 game left in my 10 day contract, next game my player will play 14mins on rotation.

Here are the stats.

14.8 mpg 7.2ppg 2.5 rpg 1.5 apg on 25% shooting. :oldlol:

Superstar / Simulation

I don't like how your player is an undrafted bum on pace to becoming the league's best player. Too unrealistic. Although I like the gameplay more than last year. More realistic feel and the A.I. isn't robotic.

How do you get steals? I block shots fine, especially considering I'm an undersized SG, but I'm always trying to jump the passing lanes and reaching in (pressing x) doesn't do sweet f*ck all, even on sloppier ballhandlers I find.

JimmyMcAdocious
10-21-2014, 10:34 PM
Passing lanes is probably the easiest from my experience. The CPU makes predictable passes. Like they could have a wide open shot or lane and you can tell they HAVE to make a pass. You see that same play where each wing runs off a screen on opposite sides of the foul line and it's almost always the second guy getting the ball. You just bait the pass and jump it. Same with post ups.

Or that's what I do. Tho I don't get many steals. Like 50 tipped passes, turned into instant buckets for some reason. But I figure eventually those tipped passes will turn into steals.

That's another thing that bothers me. The computer recovers crazy fast. If I tip a pass, they get it and are instantly in their shooting motion. I block a shot and somehow they get it and they are instantly in their shooting motion. I swear I'm gonna break something if I see that animation where the computer catches a tipped pass behind his back again. How often can that possibly happen? Who has reflexes like that?

Press conferences happen a lot when you start.

To get steals I think it helps having a big wing span. On max wingspan I can just swat the ball if they are holding/dribbling it near my main hand and this game doesn't call fouls as often on reach ins so you can spam it. That and baiting passes works with a long wing span.

Haven't won a single game since I joined the Magic. Already a starter and our team is the worst in the league. Superstar difficulty is harder this year than last year. 5 straight games getting blown out by 30 points. I think I'll lower the difficulty next time I play. Also, every game my team is shooting 40% below fg. One game against Miami we shot 18%.

Anyway, how to unlock the Alpha Dog and Fierce Competitor badges?

I'm finally starting to enjoy this. I'm still in my rookie season with the Hornets, 15 games left, and I just had a generally frustration-free game against the Kings. I tend to have my best games against the Kings for some reason, but this game I had 35 points, 12 assists, 7 rebounds, 3 steals and 1 block as a PG. Blocking in this game is ridiculous. Just finished a game with my PG and I had six blocks.

My six block game also had a three-point game winner by me. It was crazy. We were down by about 5 pints in the last minute, but I got an assist to Lance Stephenson and an and-1 assist to Cody Zeller. I hadn't scored in a while, but with 6 seconds left, it was a tied game and I hit my first three of the game to win it for us. My nickname, 'Clutch', was quite fitting.

We got the 2014-15 MVP, KD, the second-place MVP vote-getter in Westbrook, and me, all in the starting lineup. Also, Perkins is gone and Adams is starting in the front-court with Ibaka.

And not to mention the addition of Doc Rivers as our coach. I'm feeling sorry for the rest of the league, we're getting an easy ring this year. Gonna be a breath of fresh air in OKC after having to deal with the Hornets cheese as a rookie.

Anyone else experiencing some retarded rotations?

I'm nearing the end of my rookie year as a SG with the Raps and everything was going great, we had like an 8 game win streak and an overall great team record but suddenly one game my coach decides to start and give most minutes to Vasquez over Lowry, even though both are healthy. And he keeps changing the starting PF between Amir, Pat Patterson and even Hansbrough despite all being completely healthy. This has gone on for about 10 games now and we've been .500 in those games mostly due to benching some of our best players.

Did the same shit to me on the Raptors. Everything was going good. Benched Lowry for Vasquez and everything went to shit. I swear to god all Vasquez did was dribble out the shot clock and take bad shots.

Same here. Kept benching McDermott for Middleton and some other guy I can't remember. Also Butler (which I prefered), but they put him back on the bench. McDermott can't shoot for shit in this game. Not as your teammate.

The NBA season is too long. I hit a wall right after the allstar weekend in my second season and been messing around in MyPark lately. Had a nice 16 win streak with some guys before my ass fell asleep and I had to piss earlier today.

Think I'm going to start simming a lot of games. Already got all the major endorsements except for one and my dude is almost maxed out. Or maybe I'll start over. Tall C or midget PG. Probably the latter just to mess around with. The taller you are, the more OP you become over time.

Also switched to 77 release and I'm loving it. It's what 2k set for Iverson's jumper. Nearly identical to Rose's (which is what I was previously using) in terms of timing, except it feels maybe very slightly quicker and the animation just looks better.

This mode has a short shelf life, tho. I'd like to see them get real writers and make into some legit basketball RPG with playable storylines and impactful decisions. Outsource Bioware or Bethesda, or just don't half ass it. But I doubt that will happen. Too bad because there's so much potential here.

First game with the Thunder, we got blown out by 20 points by the Rockets. It wasn't even that we weren't scoring (I was shooting like shit because of volume shooter though), but the Rockets were literally unstoppable. They hit everything, whether it was Harden, Ariza or f*cking Isaiah Canaan.

It's also pretty annoying that I'm getting the most minutes on the team over KD and Westbrook, who only got to play 32 and 27 minutes each that game. It pissed me off, because Westbrook was beasting and KD was scoring pretty well too. I got a triple-double in my first game, but I was still expecting it to be much closer. On to the next one...

I heard in order to get deadeye you gotta make a lot of contested shots with green/perfect releases over a certain amount of games.

Some releases I can't miss in SP games but when I go Park I can't make shit. One I couldn't make in SP and I could make online... Took me testing out at least 10 different shots before finding one that I can make in both SP and Park. I use 70 or 71. I forget. The one PJ Hairston has as his default.

People say you have to adjust for the likely input lag. But, imo, just find the right release that you can shoot normally in a laggy game and it will still go in. Obviously takes a lot of time to find the release, tho it's worth it. I shoot the same in season games, Park, and Jordan rec regardless of lag with similar efficiency.

With the screens the guy has to be set. This game is going by the book, not how it's called irl. I set screens feet before the ball handler even makes his move. I wait for the screener to be standing still for at least half a second before I try to lure the defender into him. Pain in the ass, but whatever.

gotta set it before the ball handler's guy is even about to run into you. The AI for the running the pick and roll isn't too bad so you can trust the ball handler will use your screen if you set it right.

I dunno if its just me but its so easy to get rebounds in this game now. I've been averaging 15+ rebounds since I've gotten significant minutes as a C at 7'2. Last 3 games I've had 24, 35, 26 rebounds. It does have something to do with the guards not trying to get rebounds now and it seems that your teams CPU will let you get the rebound if you jump first.

Theres a play where I have to set a screen behind the three point line but Brandon Knight runs up the court and dribbles where the screen would be before I can cross half court. I'm getting better with the screens though.

Just won a game against Philly. Embiid had been talking tough on social media and I shut him up. Or so I thought. I picked up my 5th foul with 30 seconds up in the 4th quarter with a 12 point lead. It shows me leave the game and the buzzer sounds...and keeps going off. Great, my game has frozen. So I hit options and quit but instead of taking me back to the my career hub or the main menu, it shows me back on the court with the ball. Odd, I thought. Maybe somehow we have the ball to inbound and I'm back in the game. No, it RESTARTED THE GAME. So I had a 32/23/4/2 game wiped off

With big Al and myself, there was no way we weren't going to stomp them on the boards, and stomp them we did by an average of +15 rebounding advantage throughout the series. I think I averaged a 20/20 in the series and Al Jefferson averaged another 20/10. We beat them in 5 to come up against the Cavs.

First game against the Cavs, fvcking Kyrie goes perfect in 3 quarters but we still only lose by 5 points. We still end up winning the next 3 games with me having monster games and LeBron struggling. I just lost game 5 in a blowout where LeBron dropped 40 on us though.

Hopefully we won't blow the series after being up 3-1. Pretty sure Bulls have swept their way to the conf finals.

All this with the following starting lineup:

Roberts
Walker
Stephenson
Big Al
Me

With MKG, Zeller, and Henderson coming off the bench. Need to up the difficulty I think...

It's even worse than 2K13 this year. You will get murdered in the paint and no whistle will be blown. Only fouls in the game are reach-in fouls and illegal screens

the thing is im okay with some fouls not being called, but these animations in 2k15 is ridiculous. You get blatantly hard fouled with holds on the arms and pushes in the back to the point where your character loses control of the ball and no foul is called... you cant even attempt a shot because you lost the ball due to the hard foul.

What is the point of having a my career mode where you can make it into the hall of fame if you aren't going to play enough seasons before the next 2k game comes out.....

True. They should just do roster updates and dlc instead of dropping a game every year. Same goes for Madden and Fifa.

Cause the gameplay rarely change. I would say drop a few patches and dlc but they would lose out on money if you look at it from a business standpoint. People are gonna buy these games cause they are the only football, soccer, and basketball games that are out.

Honestly this years 2k gameplay is great but they did the mycareer/park/rec wrong. There's so many things wrong with this game and it makes me not even want to play it at times. Getting mad right now thinking about it.

Any one else sick of the animations? I'm a 7' C, there is no reason I should ever go up for a soft lay-up attempt when I'n under the basket. But on the other side if somebody drives abd tries a lay-up I sometimes get pushed back.

I also think its stupid that attributes matter more than impact. I'm averaging 21-17-4-3 on about 55% shooting (leading the league in RPG and BPG, 5th in PPG amongst C and leading C in APG) but because I'm only a 73 overall EVERYBODY on the team gets plays called. I can go several posessions without ever touching the ball

TheReal Kendall

yea man. its ridiculous. This game is full of animations. You could be in the right position and time a block perfectly but 2k will make you attempt a charge or just fall down.

this crap happens all the time in the rec and park. Like you can't even stand and dunk. It makes you take a layup then you miss it. shit is dumb.

And the shooting is so inconsistent on here too.

Mr. I'm So Rad
01-11-2015, 02:06 PM
I hate how delayed certain animations are. It's especially egregious when trying to block shots. I have to jump prematurely and hope I get a block. Then the game will make me jump twice when I finally jump, getting me even more out of position.

And I'm convinced fouls just aren't in the game, at least on layups. I went in and turned the foul slider up to maximum for both my team and the CPU in MyCareer and we still get murdered under the basket. I had a sequence where me and Taj Gibson just took turns getting mauled with no call right in front of the ref. Taj Gibson was also fouling Roy Hibbert all game with no call. I'm not asking to shoot 12+ free throws a game myself, just that when these animations that clearly show people getting fouled that calls are made at least some of the time.

After playing my first season as a PG with the Bucks, I moved on to play for the Pacers in year two. When I joined the Bucks in year one, they were 18-28 and about 7 or 8 games out of the 8th playoff spot. We finished the season 26-10 to go 44-38, and made the playoffs as the 7-seed. Got past the Heat in round one (won the series 4-2), and lost a pretty epic ECSF to the Bulls 4-3.

Night and day difference in going from playing with the Bucks to playing with the Pacers. As a PG I can pretty much get as many assists as I want with George and C.J. Miles sniping the long ball and West and Hibbert finishing inside. I'm 19 games into the season and we're 17-2 with my two losses coming to the Thunder at home where we lost a high scoring contest 133-129, and to the Cavs on the road in OT.

I've only had to go into "f**k passing, shoot only" mode three or four games this season. Seems like teammates in 2K15 are much more consistent than they were in years past. I'm averaging 27 PPG, 14 APG, 7 RPG, and 3 SPG. Paul George (16 PPG), David West (13 PPG), C.J. Miles (12 PPG), and Roy Hibbert (11 PPG) are all averaging 10+ PPG. Our starting lineup is lethal.

How is that supposed to work? I just always assumed in blowouts you got your minutes no matter what. I'm at 37 minutes in the rotation, now, so in 25+ point blowouts I'm running in the 4th quarter with the two fictional rookies we drafted in the off-season, Rudez, and Andre Miller or George Hill, while the other 4 starters are resting. And since I went from the Bucks to the Pacers, 25ish+ point blowouts are more frequent. It'd be nice if my player got to sit out the entire 4th quarter if we've got a 25 point lead heading into it; over time you could get more games in that way.

Yeah that's what I mean. If we're up 20+ heading into the 4th, I should only play maybe the first 4-5 minutes. But I'll still play almost the entire 4th until I hit about 41 minutes even though my minutes in the rotation are around 36. The subbing is weird too. The game doesn't sub based on situation, so we can be in the middle of a run and the coach will sit me for like 2 minutes, killing all of our momentum.

The last part of your post may be my biggest gripe about the game. I hate when I get my usual first rest after playing the entire 1st quarter. Some games I might come out with a minute or 90 seconds to go, but I usually play the entire first quarter. And occasionally we'll have a 15-20 point lead by that point, however I always stay on the bench until there's 3-4 minutes to go in the second quarter, and what feel like way too often, the CPU has trimmed the lead down to 5 or fewer points.

Does Kemba automatically get injured if you're a PG in Charlotte? Same thing happened to me.

I'm on my 2nd 10 day contract. Is it possible to just play so shitty that you get waived? And the "Good/Bad game" detection is terrible. I've gotten pulled aside by Big Al a couple of times after playing decently well (B+ teammate rating, 17 points on 100% shooting and 3-4 assists in 10 minutes of burn) and tell me I'm playing like "an old grandma." Anybody noticed how some unrealistic stats are when you simulate in MyGM/League

I did a MyLeague with the 98 Lakers in place of the current Lakers. Line-up was Fisher-Kobe-Jones-Horry-Shaq. I switched all the plays in the playbook so that they would be running the triangle. I slowed down the pace and made them play physical D and focus on rebounding. The offence would run through Shaq 1st, Kobe 2nd and Jones 3rd.

We ended up being a top 5 defence but one of the worst scoring teams in the league. Low point averages, low shooting percentages across the board, low assists and low offensive rebounds. Shaq only averaged 19/10 on 49% shooting, despite him averaged 28/11 on 58% IRL in 1998. Kobe and EJ both averaged 20/5/5 with Jones leading the league in steals at 3 and a bit per game. Horry averaged about 2/2 and was useless except for spacing. In the playoffs we got swept in the first round by the Kings. Boogie outplayed Shaq - 25/12 on 53% (Boogie) to 20/9 on 48% (Shaq).

Brandon Jennings was All-NBA 1st averaging something like 25/8 on 50% and 40% from 3.

Another gripe is how the All-D teams, DPOY and MVP are chosen. In a different MyLeague file, I rebuilt the Lakers with a fictional C to pair with Julius Randle and some other fictional players. We won 65 games with my C averaged 23/12/3/1/3 but Durant won MVP with 60 wins because he averaged 30/8/5/1/1 but had Westbrook on the All-NBA 1st and Westbrook AND Ibaka on the All-D 1st.

Apparently after year two it's possible to build a ridiculously stacked lineup. I played year one with the Bucks then went to the Pacers for the 2015-2016 season. We beat the Thunder in the Finals in 7 games, then came the part where they asked me who I wanted them to target in trades in the off-season. I play for the Pacers so I'm pretty happy with Paul George and Roy Hibbert. I'd've picked West over Hibbert but at this point West is like 36 years old; and since I play PG I didn't want them targeting any PGs. So, my two preferred targets were Anthony Davis and Bradley Beal...we got both of them. This is our starting lineup:

PG | Me | 21 years old | 89 OVR
SG | Bradley Beal | 23 years old | 85 OVR
SF | Paul George | 26 years old | 90 OVR
PF | Anthony Davis | 23 years old | 94 OVR
C | Roy Hibbert | 29 years old | 81 OVR

I had some VC saved up when I started this guy and I've been putting all my points in to shooting to try and make a stretch four, it sucks you can't start out in a certain role now because getting a big mans shooting up took awhile. Not sure if I'll stay after my rookie season, for a side that is decent in real life they lose every game I sim and give up big leads every time I'm on the bench. We have the 6th seed now but should be higher if they didn't blow those games.

Posting up against smaller players/guards as a center in this game is useless. Any moves that causes you to be driving against the smaller player = stripped. Every. Single. Time. Even against some centers that have like a 60 defense you'll still get stripped occasionally. The only moves that works is doing a hook the opposite way or post fadeaway... But when I do it = foul. :facepalm

Having a height advantage is useless when it comes to scoring. My guy is 7' and regularly gets mismatches because I run the floor. I still have to do fakes on short guys like Ty Lawson to score a hook shot from a foot away, and thats with maxed out inside scorer. I feel as though the game wants everyone to be a PG

actually you're more likely to score with a post fadeaway than to use hooks or other post moves. Post fadeaway is OP, not to mention when youre in post up mode you can't get double teamed.

I agree with having all the attributes being unlocked, ever since whichever 2k where they capped player attributes you cant make your player into whatever you want. But the badges thing is good, centers shouldn't really be able to unlock things like crossover badges, earning it to wear it is pretty good tbh, adds this achievement to the game. Maybe let the players pick a few to be for free in the beginning?

To me badges are like perks/boosts. Let it just be all about your skill and smart bball.

Like I when people have the deadeye badge it pretty much cancels out good defense. Same with the posterizer badge and all the others.

They should do away with skill badges tbh.

I've been thinking and do we really need badges?

if they get rid of the fancy stuff and only have the core gameplay, everyone will get bored of the game within a few hundred hours of play, max. I get where you're coming from but the badges aren't that bad. For deadeye and stuff like that, the perimeter lockdown defender badge can neutralize it, the badges just gives players the character they need to stand out.
