a buzzfeed page of some sort with a title like "18 lists of nonsense you'll forget tomorrow" or "18 links you can click to waste your time"... something anything like that. i guess that idea, which is SUCH a great idea, has probably already been done. oh well, back to the drawing board.
i was just browsing a facebook page of a friend and i encountered the phenomenon i'm sure we're all familiar with by now. the most shared internet pages right this second, perhaps even more than short youtube videos, are these idiotic lists.
small sample from this chicks page
16 Times Scott Disick Totally Owned The Kardashians
15 Things We Did At School That Future Students Will Never Understand
37 Cheap And Easy Ways To Make Your Ikea Stuff Look Expensive
The 5 Types Of Friends Everyone Should Have
the last one isn't so bad. but you get the idea.
does anybody else have a problem with this? is it gender specific or at least gender slanted (obv meaning girls are more inclined)? is it making us think it's okay or even preferable to consume information in bite-sized easy to swallow pieces so that we don't get confused or scared at the big wide complicated world? am i exaggerating the extent of this phenomenon? or am i merely overstating its significance?
anybody anybody at all? i'm sure
