Portishead one of the most underrated groups of all time. Has just as many if not more hip hop elements as 2pac btw.

I've had imaginary loving, romantic jerk off sessions to her voice.

Absolutely beautiful.

For pure technical ability Whitney has to be at the top. Popular music only.

I'd vote for Janis though. Maybe Kate Bush.

Whitney is great and all but all her songs sound the same. She has a very powerful voice which limits her versatility.

Mariah on the other hand is a master on every vocal level. She has 5 octave ranges that she can transition without much effort and lets not forget her signature squeak that very few in the world can do.

Most singing instructors or even opera singers will say she is the greatest.

I am a Renaissance man, I know this shit and others will agree with me.

Mariah is number 2 because of the power of Aretha's voice.

Karen Carpenter has the best voice of the last 100 years.

When you say "vocalist", what are you refering to?

Sharon den Adel, Simone Simons are in her own genre and have better voices.

The three queens in my opinion are: Mariah carey Whitney Houston and Celine Dion.

Vocalist has to be Mariah.
Best singer could be Mariah, Whitney, or Christina.
Best voice could be Aretha, Karen Carpenter, Sarah Brightman, Laura Pausini, etc. .. beautiful, enticing and/or powerful voices.

Axl Rose.. what a boss.

I agree. She's in the top 5 for sure. Maybe below Aretha and Whitney, but she can hold her own with just about anybody else. It's a shame you are the only person to mention her so far.
