50% of all married brides in Kyrgystan were kidnapped by their husband and pressured to marry them.
I wonder what is the state religion of Kyrgystan?:confusedshrug:

Hey, that's racist against married people. Not ALL married people are kidnappers.

This happens around Osh I believe.
This would never happen by the Kirghiz Light. No one gets kidnapped by the Kirghiz Light.

Your pathetic. Everythings Islams fault isnt it? Lets ignore the fact that the video states clearly it is a Kyrgystan tradition brought down from Manas and has nothing to do with their religion. Lets just blame Islam for everything, eh?
I blame Islam for Ebola. I blame Muslims for the last episode of Dexter. I blame Islam for keeping NickYoung a virgin all this time.

I guess if they are following the Bible by forcing the women to stay quiet.

The people say it came from Manas, but the scholar says that there is not a single mention of doing anything like this in the Manas.
He says that Bride Kidnapping was a smaller tradition, that became very large once Kyrgystan broke away from the Soviet Union, as a response to the soviets trying to make them treat women better. What state religion did the Kyrgys adopt after they gained independence from the soviets?:confusedshrug:

:oldlol: Wow, okay, so let me get this straight. All the people from Kyrgystan interviewed in the video talked about the historical legacy behind the tradition of kidnapping wives, and how it came from Manas. But Nick Young, a random guy on a basketball forum with a username dedicated to the dumbest NBA player around, is telling me otherwise. I wonder who I would trust on this issue.

Do you think any of those people actually read the entire Manas, which is 20 times longer then the Odyssey and Illiad combined?:confusedshrug:
The scholar in the documentary who actually did read the Manas says there is zero mention of bridal kidnapping anywhere in the poem.

To be fair, this is more of a central asian/Turkic cultural practice and has very little to do with Islam.
