I have to go with MJ
1x Defensive Player of the year
9x 1st defense
3x steal title
3rd all-time leader in steal.

1 of the 3 player who achieve 200+ steal and 100+ blocks in a single season
(MJ,Pippen,Olajuwon)
only player to do it twice..

8min of defensive highlights of the great one.

Jordan the better thief and playing the passing lanes/man to man D etc etc

Jordan/Lebron pretty even on chase down blocks. The stats show that.

Lebron a lot more versatile defender because of his speed and size combination.

Jordan was the far superior perimeter defender - what Lebron did to Rose that one year was STANDARD for Jordan... Jordan had to guard PG's all the time... it wasn't this "big deal" for Jordan, like it is when Lebron does.

So don't let the surprise of Lebron actually guarding a PG once in a while, make us think he was better than Jordan at it, when Jordan had to do it all the time.

Also, when Lebron guards Dirk, Duncan, Zach Randoph, or ANY non-garbage PF for more than a possession or two, let me know - so far I've NEVER seen it.... the one time I saw him guard a decent PF for any extended period was against the Pacers in Game 1 of 2014 Conference Finals - he was on West, who thoroughly destroyed him, forcing Spolestra to change the gameplan for Game 2.

Also, Jordan led the league in plus-minus in 1996, with the largest plus-minus ever recorded... a +980 ... Lebron's highest is a +817 in 2009.

Well MJ lost millions to the casinos so he's an anti-thief if anything.
