Kobe:

Lebron:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwKwiftfVmA

bulletpoints:

*Kobe looks fluid, picks up on subtleties, gets Hakeem excited by duplicating moves correctly almost immediately.

*Lebron looks mechanical, Hakeem constantly pointing out/explaining his mistakes.

Just interesting to see the natural fluidity of Hakeem and Kobe contrast with Lebron.

watching Hakeem and Kobe is like watching The Prestige, two great craftsmen going at it, replicating and improvising on each other's moves

Bron is like a hapless amateur trying to pull the rabbit out of the hat when he's being taught how to do a card trick

So Kobe is a better shooter, a better dunker, more fluid and graceful, yet Lebron has matched his Finals MVP count by the age of 29? :wtf:
How great is our Bron? On pace to surpass Kobe on the all time list despite Kobe having so many god given physical advantages over Lebron. :applause:

LeBron clearly has the god given advantage (athleticism)

Kobe clearly has the man made advantages (skill)

both great players.

Working with Hakeem, as well as with Grover (he started Summer 07 I believe) played a huge part in those three Finals runs + 2 chips. We might've won anyway in 09, but the next year Kobe was hurting a bit, and didn't seem to be in his athletic prime anymore. His crisp footwork and advanced moves/counters really helped smooth the transition to clinch the repeat.

I'd say that it's most likely Bird... Kobe's at the very top though, Pistol Pete and MJ too, and a few others...

Different strengths and weaknesses, it's good to see both players willing to improve their games by learning from the best.

It looks like Kobe was going through a sequence of moves they had already drilled individually, whereas LeBron was in the middle of fixing a specific thing he was struggling with, but yeah Kobe looked a lot better.

This time Kobe is going over something and missing details. He still looks more graceful than LeBron, but the other comparison was misleading.

Why would this shock anyone? Bron doesn't have the body type or natural fluidity to pull moves like that off without looking awkward as f*ck. Hakeem and Kobe both have that slimmer build while LeBron is built more like Karl Malone, he looks like a f*cking transformer :lol

This is quite an ignorant, non-specific generalisation.
Basketball has many skills involved, just because you don't find lebron's post moves pretty does not mean he is lacking in fundamentals vs other greats.

Who did lebron beat to get his rings? A 23 year old kevin durant? A 35 year old tim duncan? Kobe actually beat tim duncan in his prime.

If we're being correct then Shaq beat Duncan in his prime. Shaq was the Duncan of the Lakers, not Kobe.

Still, you didn't answer the real question. Kobe fans grab hold to anything irrelevant. Looks better on a video in the post? Omgz, Kobe > Lebron. Even though Lebron basically owns Kobe in every statistical and normal way when comparing two individuals, individual accomplishments and numbers.

So, besides sidekick rings, what individual accolades and accomplishments does Kobe have over Lebron?

well to put it in perspective
it's still Kobe>Lebron even if you believe that 3 were a sidekick rings

using your logic means
3 sidekick rings + 2 rings > 2rings right?

Okay so lets add up, we have: rings, free throw shooting, and post-game. Is that right?

Add leadership, scoring and defense.
Leadership is not something you can measure, and even if, Lebron is a great leader. Has lead both teams with mediocre players and good players.

Scoring, Lebron is on pace to scoring more than Kobe and has done so way, way more efficiently than Kobe. Kobe scoring comes on terrible efficiency while Lebron manages to get the same amount of scoring on much better %.

On defense, Kobe takes it. 9 all defensive teams beats 5. But Lebron is very unique in that he can guard 1-4 and has had some epic defensive displays in playoffs.

You can argue for him (I don't really think so though), but saying without a doubt is just laughable...

I agree.. But imo a 40yr old Hakeem is still more fluid than Kobe..
