I love this video, we have almost everything we need to see and know about his game. Threes, MidRange, Post moves and especially DEFENSE. He can guard 1-3 positions. He guards all superstar pgs and Sgs and even saw him guarding Bron, Marion etc...See for yourself!

CLick here to watch video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcJRzQCkcao)

Overrated on offense, can't create his own shot at all.

Don't like his game at all.

Overrated on both ends right now.

I don't understand why people are saying he's the best SG in the game. He disappears in games his shot isn't falling. Even when he did have terrible shooting games, the Warriors would still win.

But with the FIBA tournament over, I do think he'll have some momentum going into the season. Hope he proves me wrong.

Why not? Not that I think he is.

Probably as an individual talent, but Klay Thompson is one of the best supplementary pieces in the game.:confusedshrug:

Because he's clearly not. I know people hate Harden here and I'm not fan of his, but he was the most productive SG overall. All year long last year it was being debated at times between Harden and Wade (then it became Harden only), followed by DeMar.

Thompson's defense isn't about trump what Harden did all year long for the Rockets.

Infact, if Kobe and Wade have bounce back years, he's still Top 5 at best next season.

DeMar (he could be #2 if Wade and Kobe decline further)

But realistically they won't... At least not Kobe.

God I just don't see how Harden is the best SG when he's totally useless past FT's/Chucking 3's... And a huge negative on defense.

I would take Klay over him...

And his game doesn't look very fluid to me either (Which is prolly moe's Point)... But his Shooting his great, decent passing and capable defense.

That's a strength of Klay, no doubt. But he's got Steph Curry to play with. When you've got Steph taking off so much pressure on offense, Klay doesn't have to do much. If DeMar and Harden played alongside Steph, they would be just as good, if not better.

Klay probably would still be good alongside Kyle Lowry, but not as good alongside Patrick Beverly/Jeremy Lin.

Best 2-way guard ?

Chris Paul and Rajon Rondo are clearly better on both ends of the court.

Lacks explosiveness and tighter handles to really become a superstar or just a perennial all-star. Does everything well though and would be an important piece to any championship squad.

If Mitch Richmond and Reggie Miller was a second tier type of shooting guard, Klay is a third tier one with the likes of Allan Houston, Stackhouse, Steve Smith, Eddie Jones, etc.

KlayThis. Klay is overrated, and massively so.

His numbers:

18/3/2/1 on 56TS% - 14.3 PER

playoffs:

16/3/4 53TS% - 12 PER

Those numbers pale in comparison to Wade's, who everyone has been saying was awful this year and had a terrible season. But this guy is 'the best 2-way guard now?' please. Best 2-way guards don't have PERs of 12 in the playoffs.

I think he's a good 3rd option, and that's it.
