It's one of those shows that only gets good around 10 episodes in but from there on out it is an awesome mind ****. The first ten episodes are designed to lure you in to a false sense of security so when shit hits the fan, it is even more devastating.

still, it seems like that's become a pretty common model these days. i'm not saying that's bad, just... any particular format can get boring, i guess.

but my larger problem with anime is that i can't find anything that matches the stuff that first got me interested in it, like akira, the miyazaki movies, ghost in the shell and maybe a couple others. i've tried various ppl's suggestions and they've always turned out pretty boring, unfortunately.

i liked death note a lot right up until the botched ending. no real reason to watch it in anime or live action movie form. in fact, most stuff i'd prefer to read in manga form, such as all the amazing works of tezuka. so yeah, unless something is really kickass compared to its manga, i'm not gonna have much motivation for it.
