I'm not a comic reader but I'm not biased towards good entertainment so I gave it a try. The premise is OK, the setting is limited and needs to do more to convince the viewer it's Gotham city. Benjamin Mackenzie (Jim Gordon) has already played a similar role in Southland so he is good at it. Donal Logue is solid as his senior partner which makes up a nice acting duo.
It is a police procedural in essence although cases are working toward establishment of a vigilante movement. So I guess at the end of the day they help shaping of new sides to the comic.

Yeah, it's really good. Every episode leaves me wanting more.
I love that they didn't do a slow show. Things happen pretty quickly. For instance, (spoiler in white text) Penguin was booted from Fish's crew immediately instead of it being a slow, season-long build up.
Penguin is arguably the best character on the show. You just never know what he's going to do next.
I'm not completely sold on young Bruce Wayne. And the fact that Jim Gordon keeps coming back to chat about on-going investigations with a preteen is kind of weird, to say the least.
I'm hoping they eventually show a young Joker. Y'know, before Joker became the Joker. Maybe just show a fragile, damaged kid who appears to be on the verge of insanity.
So far the show has been great. I hope they keep it going at this pace.

Tbh I only started watching it because of Benjamin Mackenzie's role in southland, I knew he would play Jim Gordon well. I like the show so far.

I'm a fan.
You got to expect that this is going to be along the production lines of Arrow/The Flash so it's not going to be a GoT.
I take it for what it is and enjoy it.
Gordon reminds me of Russell Crowe, the American Version.

The show is not good. It's campy and a parody of crime shows and comic books. It's directed poorly. It has over the top acting that lacks proper modulation and subtlety. Plus, every character speak as if all they know is sylliloquis and shouting loudly every feeling.

yes, i have been thinking that since the pilot. he is really channeling russel crowe, especially his angry scenes.

not crazy about the show so far, but hoping it gets better like shield did.

I've been watching it and so far enjoying it.

Not the best show on TV, but if you're a fan of the genre you will like it.

Looking forward to tonight's new episode of The Flash!

I think it's okay, but will have trouble generating interest in future seasons.

Things I like:
Interesting interpretations of pre-Batman villains.
Doesn't try to include superhero elements despite being of the "Batman" genre.
Has a certain element of intrigue so far in the mob/crooked police dynamic.
Sal Maroni, loved him as Batista in Dexter.

Things I do not like:
Bruce Wayne already developing batman tendencies as a kid.
Barbara seems like a very flat character with waaay too much spare time.
Not as much action as I'd like.
Weird Gotham world where flip cell phones are used, as well as typewriters and old school cars.

I agree it's not a good show yet, right now it's OK going in a good direction.
