Unfortunately for him, he is wrong. But I like his confidence and his game also.

Ahead of him I have

Klay
Lance
Wade
Waiters (Expecting him to be beasting on both ends for the Cavs)
Danny Green

Probably missing a lot too :confusedshrug:

Lance is a SF. Wade is ancient and doesn't play defense. Waiters is a joke; isn't the offensive player OR the def player Mathews is. Danny Green isn't close on either side of the ball.

Wes is hugely underrated. Singlehandedly hounded Korver and held him without a 3 for the first time in a season and a half. Avg 16.4ppg on .588 TS%. Had more WS in fewer min than Klay, shot better, etc.

It speaks more to how far the position has fallen. But he isn't far off.

Also, its his BDay and I have played with him.

Ehhh.. it's not the most outlandish claim I've ever heard. Klay and Lance are up there with him though. Afflalo I think is a smidge worse on both sides, but admittedly I didn't watch much Magic games and maybe when he doesn't have to do *that* much offensively, his defense will pick back up.

Klay has the edge on D since he has height and length advantages but I think Wes is a bit better on O - draws more fouls, great shooter as well, little bit better ballhandler than Klay. Klay started to show a little more variation in his game apart from 3s but Wes was already there with post-ups/drives/etc.

Wade's defense isn't up to par. He can turn it on like 2011-2013 Kobe but for the most part it's not good.

Danny Green is still a bit too limited offensively to be in conversation.

Mathews is underrated. He's better than guys like Waiters and Green, c'mon now.

Danny Green is also massively underrated. He's stuck in a system so it's really tough to judge him but his defense is up there with the best, at his position. He is known as a role player, did not see any minutes with the Cavs but popovich saw something most people did not see. A terrific shooter, willing to listen and a better than good defender.

Lance is a Shooting Guard and I'll take wade over Wes still today, But he isn't far off at all. I'll take a guy who proven to be able to guard playoff mode Bron & KD very effiectively, in Danny Green.

Waiters is on the come up but his potential tops current Wes, yeah I know it's harsh to say that but it is what it is.

lol wesley matthews isn't the best anything in the league. Hell Oladipo is a better defender and scorer than he is and he's only played on season and still needs to develop alot. The only lists I'd put Matthews on is biggest disappointments.

It is an impressive accomplishment that you could fit so many inaccuracies into a single paragraph.

Wes was an undrafted FA. Please explain how he is the biggest disappointment averaging 16.4 on .588TS% as an undrafted FA.

Are you talking about Wes Matthews?
A guy who went undrafted and has become a good player?
How is that disappointing?

Matthews is not a special defender or anything. I'd consider Tony Allen as well. He's probably a neutral offensive player but he's stupid good on D. Also if you consider Paul George a 2 guard or Lance Stephenson.

Your right I am an idiot and for some reason thought Matthews was Johnson. Too early in the morning for me lol. Happy to admit when I'm wrong

Defensively, Wes can hold his own with any of those guys. Some are only considered better because of their offense.

Jazz blew it letting him go but I'd take Burks or Hayward over him still.

Why did you overrate Danny Green? He's the definition of a system player.
