Indeed. Bynum is very good as backup pg. Is a Rondo trade Imminent?

I hope so. :facepalm
I'd rather have Will Bynum than Brandon Jennings. Granted, that isn't saying much.

This opens up the ability to trade Rondo without needing anther PG out of it.

Bynum is an expirer as well, so we don't take on more contract years.

Cheap, and the chance to let go of Will Bynum.

Do they have a lot of pgs? Because Will bynum is extremely solid off the bench.

Joel Anthony was Miami's starting center in the Finals only 3 years ago and people were saying how stacked Miami was. Crazy dumbass people.
lol, this is crazy. Just earlier today I googled Joel Anthony's name to see if he was still in the league.

I do not like Jennings' game, but his spot seems to be cemented. And I believe Augustin is very effective. I suppose that left Bynum as the odd man out.
Regarding Detroit acquiring Joel Anthony in return, they lost Aaron Gray to a heart condition late last month and I'm thinking Anthony is meant to fill that void.

They're also high on the rookie Dinwiddie, who they're getting ready to activate.

Bynum changes nothing regarding Rondo. I'm not saying Rondo won't be dealt but the addition of a second-string pg has no affect on the tradability of an All-Star. Bynum might not even be a rotation player in Boston, Cs already have Smart, Bradley, Pressey and possibly Turner to play pg not to mention Rondo. Ainge most likely did this deal because he rated Bynum as a bigger asset than Anthony, who doesn't even play. But neither was much of an asset.

He is/was a much better rim protector than anyone on the Cavs right now. And the Cavs are probably the most stacked team of all time.

Shame. Bynum and Drummond had some great chemistry. Having Bynum on the floor made for a stable, patient offense compared to Jennings's (sometimes) questionable pace and decision making.
DJ is a good acquisition but I was hoping to see more Bynum this year. Last year some of the more interesting plays came with Bynum at the 1 and Jennings at the 2. Guess that's history now!

Sad to see Bynum go, I know most Pistons fans hate him, but I think there has been plenty of games from the past few seasons where he was the best player on the floor for a quarter or a half. For an undersized low money backup PG you can't ask for much more.
Rumors are Boston could waive him.

Then maybe head down to Houston, who need some point guard help.

If he gets waived, he should sign with a contender.

Very true. I never hated him, and never understood the hate. Preferred him to Jennings, to be honest.

If one wants him, sure. But I don't recall him signing any huge contracts so I bet if he gets waived he's just going to sign wherever he can make the most money.

Maybe Bynum and Bass moved get moved from Boston to Houston for Terry and a throw-in contract and maybe a 2nd round pick.
The Rockets get Bass to upgrade at 4, and Bynum to back up Beverly.
The Celtics get cap space (probably buy out Terry) and clear up minutes for some of their young bigs.

Will Bynum isn't a 3rd string PG. He's a legit bench scorer.
Terrible trade for the Pistons, but that's not surprising.

I called him second-string. I'm just not sure what use the Celtics make of him because there are already a lot of guards.

Saves money towards the luxury tax, even if bought out or waived.

Great, get rid of one of the only bigs for another tiny ass guard.

Pistons front line is unstoppable now. people love to shit on Joel Anthony, but he's at least good for a couple of blocked shots and rebounds off the bench. Low key underrated defensive role player.

Will Bynum was one of the best role players on NBA2k video game. Hell, he's a lot better in that video game than he is in real life.

Also, there might be a bigger trade in the works where one of the Pistons bigs gets dealt, and Joel Anthony is needed to fill their role.
As a Pistons fan, I like this trade. Will was just gonna sit on the bench the entire season. Trading him opens up the door for DinWiddie to take that 3rd PG spot.

Rumors are that the C's are gonna waive bynum.
