Hope he can slowly transition in towards the Diaw 2.0 the Spurs will be able to use for the long term future. Slow, unathletic, but smart as hell and able to play a multitude of positions well.

Except that preseason games are still NBA games. It may not be super intense like an end of the year game between 2 teams fighting for the 8th seed...but it's still an NBA game against NBA competition. You still get to see how a rookie's game looks, his skills, his tendencies, capabilities, weaknesses, etc.

I don't care what anyone says about preseason..Jabari Parker getting 21/11/2/2/2 and the game-sealing bucket on a spin move and dunk...against his draft rival in Wiggins...that means something to me. And if he went 0-15 and let Wiggins drop 40 on him, that'd mean something to me as well. The same way Spurs fans have a right to get excited over this performance, whether Anderson's overall career is a flop or not.

I thought it was very valid.

It's a meaningless game where it doesn't matter who wins. A stat line in a preseason game means nothing. Especially one like this. Neither team will be playing their hardest or their best players heavy minutes. Sure you can see some skills on display but given all those other things, so what?

Definitely not thread-worthy.

Eh, don't see how this is any different than an OGT for a preseason game.

On the first page alone we have a guy talking about his own fantasy basketball team, the owner of the site making a circle jerk thread, a football thread, an observation about Blake Griffin's shooting ability after one preseason game, observation about two rookies (Wiggins and Parker) after one preseason game, another rookie thread after a preseason game, a good ol fashion ISH Kobe rape thread, and several preseason OGTs.

I see nothing wrong with this. Or there's a lot of wrong on here.

No we absolutely would not, at least I wouldn't. If he plays 25-30 minutes and goes 0-10 and scores on 1 free throw, and lets his opposition score 30 on him, that looks bad. It may not be a concrete judgement on his career, but you can pretty easily take away things from the performance...like his strengths, weaknesses, tendencies, etc. It's okay to say preseason games aren't as good an indication of a player's ability as regular season games..but to say it has absolutely no worth at all is a pretty clear oversimplification of what preseason is and what it means.
