26 pts on 22 shots

led the team during the biggest run of the game, shouldn't have come back in 4th cuz it's pre-season.

It's sad to watch the Lakers these days. Kobe is so good, even now, but literally has nothing to work with. These Lakers teams the past few seasons have been a joke. Kobe deserves better. Would be interesting to see the Lakers pull a blockbuster trade, just to see if Kobe has another good run in him. I know he isn't leaving LA, just saying the Lakers need to reel in a big fish or three by the deadline. It's going to take some real magic to put together a team that can compete unless one of their young players puts something amazing together...which doesn't look likely from the forecast.

Maybe he shouldn't have gone for the crippling contract then

Wait so 26/5/4 is BAD for a 36 year old coming off an achilles tear, and knee fracture, in his 19th year in the league

A human man went for the money, no shocker. Not everyone is this humble saint like figure who just gives up money for the greater good.

Seven of twenty-two from the field was good enough to lead the Lakers to the win...if you're putting stock in numbers in one game might as well put stock into the win. I personally put stock in neither. It's preseason, dude. There's no mystery that Kobe literally has to force the issue every game so there will be points on the board. That's a nightmare when facing defenses that are totally geared at shutting him down because he can't punish them with those guys on the roster.

I don't expect anybody to turn down money. But it's LA and their pockets are deep enough to throw a team around him.

Then that's his problem. He chose the money over winning. Live with the results.

I'm not even a big fan of his game, and when he's retired I won't be bothered, but glad he's healthy or at least tryin to be. You know this dude is going to try to lead the league in scoring or some stupid shit. If he can't win a ring he's going to try to stay statistically relevant that much is clear
