I don't know much about the British penal code, how long someone would get locked up for graffiti, what size the fine would be, how much he would be charged for damages. But I know this guy has a lot of fans and his fame would be instant. So I wonder if and why anyone thinks he could sufficiently monetize his fame to make whatever punishment he gets worth it?

Thread inspired by apparent hoax arrest. (http://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/banksy-arrest-hoax-internet-duped-by-fake-report-claiming-that-the-street-artists-identity-has-been-revealed-9806157.html)

Isn't it strange that an anonymous graffiti artist has a publicist?

iirc he had a big gallery a while back, lots of celebrities bought his pieces, and he made plenty of money.

i think him being unknown adds to the intrigue, and makes his pieces even more valuable.

Better off unknown.

He's actually from the same city as me.
