I dont understand the difference between these types of flops and ones where players sell contact and just throw the ball up (when it has no chance of going in) for easy free throws

If he wouldn't have slightly hesitated before trying to sell it, then it wouldn't look so bad. The contact didn't really warrant for a head snap back.
