So where are all the players who have played with Kobe?
using the fact that nobody is defending kobe publicly is as foolish an argument as using the fact that nobody is condemning kobe publicly. if rumsfeld didn't pound home the message adequately already, evidence of absence does not imply absence of evidence.

So where are all the players who have played with Kobe? Why has none of his former team mates come out in his defense

Which bum should they ask?

Smush?Kwame? Atkins?

Exactly. Smush is probably like the only person who would blatantly say bad shit about Kobe, but can you blame him? He's treated him like a scrub since they started playing together. Yet his best seasons were with Kobe. (whatever that means for Smush)

Better question to ask is why ESPN wont ask anyone these questions, why should they have to come out and say anything? Because they don't wanna get done like PG did Abbott , discrediting their so called "Journalism".

Phil coming out to back Flea is enough of a stain on them.

Henry Abbott can think what he likes--but he put his opinion in 'Laker sources' mouths. I have way more than he does. Mine don't think that

No player is going to condemn Kobe publicly - this is not their battle nor is it nice to say anything negative about another player. On the other hand, if you are a former team mate and you disagree with what this author says, wouldn't you speak up? Look at how his fans are rushing to his defense in this thread - why not any of the tens/hundreds of team mates that he's had over his 18 year career?

It seems very strange to me - especially Kobe's reaction - doesn't refute anything in the article when we all know he's not shy about giving his opinion.

"With all due respect, Kobe Bryant isn't the 40th best player in the league, that's just disrespectful" - Mark Jackson on ESPN

YES!

NBA culture itself is on Kobe's side on this, from PJ to Mark Jackson and Jeff Van Gundy.

Paul George too.

Vast majority of people involved with the NBA have come to Kobe's defense.

Abbott has only exposed his own obsession with discrediting Kobe if anything.

Even Grantland released an article subtly defending Kobe.

Simmons had to sign off on it for sure. Hates Kobe's guts, no matter how many Legends tell em he's their favorite player playing. (including Bird)

He's given Kobe props before. In one article he said he was going to set himself on fire after giving praise to Kobe

espn is full of a bunch of nerdy, pathetic white males who've never played sports before. the scope of simmons and abbott's knowledge extends from stats - and only stats.

do i think kobe is overrated? of course. top 10 player ATM? probably not. but he sure isnt in the 40 range. that is retarded.

Simmons is pro Celtics which is understandable he bleeds green through think and thin his bias towards all things Laker that's comes from growing up diehard Celtics fan, I can't blame him there.

Regardless of what side of the Kobe fence anyone is on, it's near impossible to disagree with the statements that "he has run other players out of town" and "has become a player that most other players would prefer to avoid playing with". You can argue all you want about any specific situation, but the overlying truth is obvious. Kobe fans call it intensity, Kobe haters call it selfishness, either way, the bar has been set and the Lakers aren't going to draw a good group of players together until he is gone.

quotes from former Lakers addressing the Laker mess:

"I listen to, really, what Jeremy Lin says," Worthy said. "I know Kobe is frustrated, and I know Kobe is going to do what he has to do in his own mind -- as he said, keep the team involved.

"But when I hear 'lack of communication and trust' from Jeremy Lin, that makes me wonder if everyone is in sync. It doesn't seem to be because the defense is not showing us that they're connected."

Horry agreed.

"Right now, there is no flow with this team," Horry said. "It's Kobe this, Kobe that, and you can see the frustration in the other guys. Jeremy Lin stated it. Boozer stated it in the interviews that there's some lack of trust going on and they want to be more involved in the team effort to win ballgames."

The team has looked good in spots, coming close to winning some games.

"There have been times," Horry said. "And if you go back and look at those times, you look at the shots taken -- the ball was shared. And then you look at when they're frustrated, and there's one individual with more shots than the others."

Kobe is now intimately linked to this mess of a Laker's season. Is Kobe proving the ESPN article correct?

When Ariza left, I had a gut feeling they would never three-peat. A washed up Meta for 2 more good years isn't what they needed.

Since Kobe became the first option in 2002-03

SAS have won 4 titles over the past 12 years, while LAL have only won 2 titles during the same span. Moreover, LAL missed the playoffs three times (this season is a formality) and were ousted in 1st round three times.

After the Lakers sealed the three-peat in 2001-02, no one could have imagined this outcome, but Kobe has prioritized money and stat padding ahead of winning and team goals. Basically, Kobe has held LAL hostage since 2002.

This season is the icing on the cake. The guy is extremely detrimental to the team, the LVP of the league.

LAL (2014-15) -> Record (1-9)

Omg, an article from LeESPN criticising Kobe Bryant after he called them a bunch of idiots.

What a coincidence.

Lebron will get it too most likely when he's at the end of his career. ESPN keeps it hush until they aren't useful to them anymore.
