Indiana doesn't have to go into panic mode and rebuild the team. In fact, they should try and trade for Rajon Rondo and get that elite point guard that would make the Pacers legit contenders. A Rondo/Paul George/Hibbert big 3 would be contenders for sure.

And it would be nice to add another legit contender to the East. The East already has the Bulls, Cavs and Heat.

So they trade.... who.... for Rondo?

And then once they get him, he helps them to a nice 8th-10th place finish for George to come back and then... what?

Or they could throw in the towel, not rush PG back, accept their high end draft pick, trade Hibbert's near expiring contract, re-sign West to a team friendly deal, and then come back better than ever the following year.

Indy is no longer a contender. Even if George hadn't gotten hurt they lost Stephenson and Hibbert has become historically unreliable. There is some good news on George (http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/11736937/paul-george-indiana-pacers-shooting-jumpers) but there still is no set return date. And even when he returns he won't be the same guy he was pre-injury, may never in his whole career get to that level again and never was a legit superstar anyway.

As for trading for Rondo...what do they have to offer?

Wallace

Mahinmi
Copeland
Photos of naked PG
Hibbert
Ball signed by Larry Bird (they love him in Boston)

Who says no?!
