Actually, only 5 airports can accept people from the West African nations that are plagued with Ebola now.

New York-JFK
DC - Dulles
Newark
Chicago - Ohare
Atlanta - Hartsfield-Jackson

Not a total travel ban, but it's a start.

    Yes! They aren't allowed in to LAX too:bowdown:

What about African nationals who go to Europe first though, like the sneak Mr Duncan, are there any new regs to stop that from happening again?

Pointless bans. The only people wealthy enough to make those flights have the money to go to Europe first or find an illegal way in anyway.

All this will do is hurt aid efforts. Nobody is going to want to go there to help if they don't think they'll ever be able to come back.

You still need a passport. A guy with a Liberian passport isn't gonna just get on an American-bound flight from Europe uninterrupted. They're gonna notice if his passport says he just left Liberia 2 days ago and is now trying to go to America.

So your opinion is that we should NOT try to help stop the spread of Ebola at the source?

Pretty glad you're not in charge of anything important.

Can't believe no one noticed that it's actually 46 states. One of the airports is in DC. Oops. :oldlol:

Thank God only 5 of the biggest airports in the nation are the only ones accepting flights from Africa, you know the only ones that accepted them half the time anyway because they're always a layover stop

If they haven't already, the government here should create incentive packages to those who choose to help treat Ebola in West Africa. Some sort of monetary subsidy used for housing to you for the next 5 years and medical VISA where you can travel back at anytime.

If you don't stop Ebola at the root, it'll eventually spread to Egypt, South Africa, and Europe shortly thereafter. Then there will be nothing the US can do to stop Ebola from coming to the states aside locking its own citizens inside the country and shutting off all flights.

Although I don't think it will come to that for now. Unless we see that 10,000 per week claim coming to fruition.

Hopefully the same happens here. We're like the size of one small state in the US, so if ebola arrived here, we'd be screwed. There was a recent scare when a boat from Liberia or some strange country arrived at Dublin, but none on-board were infected thankfully.
