The video was struggling on Deadspin for me, so here's the YouTube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NsOvUc3FGMk

Damn he was going off against all of them

How was the documentary? Gotta watch it later on, didn't have time today.

NBA got release footage like this though, and I don't mean just fights but especially actual games.

Gangsta shit. I would've done the same.

I did not see the 30 for 30 so I'm kind of just trying to feel my way through this clip on my own. Did they fill in any details? I played it at a quarter speed to try to get a grasp of who connected with who.

So far, using the YouTube video as a reference, as the news story suggested, it looks like Reed was being held back by a Laker (0:21), so Reed turned with a left elbow and connected to that Lakers' head as a means of breaking free.

Next, it looks like Reed and LaRusso both swing and miss, with Reed's off-arm possibly hitting his own teammate (0:23).

Then (0:26) it looks like he was grabbed from behind again, seemingly by a tall guy just trying to cool things out, but Reed again turns and swings elbow first. It looks like he made solid contact, but he also throws a punch that looks like a glancing blow if it connected at all, but the tall feller backs off immediately and begins holding and feeling his nose, so he was hit at some point.

At (0:28), it looks like Reed turns and decks a guy but in slow-mo it looks like the Laker Matrix'd his way around that one, though it's tough to tell for sure.

Reed then slips and at (0:31) it actually looks like one of his teammates is coming out along the top (wearing a t-shirt) and doing the Stephen Jackson thing. That guy looks like he drops someone up there, maybe one of the broken jaws.

Finally, at (0:35), it looks like LaRusso connects with a straight left but Reed countered with a very nice 1-2 combo (maybe from which the famous photo-op stems).

That's some anger issue. Didn't look like anyone tried to fight him except the very last guy. Those guys just standing there and Reed starts swinging at everyone. :lol

I tuned in too late, but here is an article (http://knickerblogger.net/unsung-knick-history-the-night-willis-fought-the-entire-laker-bench-and-won/) about the fight.

"Willis you play in a weak era and are a slow/undersize 6 foot white scrub" - what a few posters on ISH would wish to say to him if they time traveled to that moment and had the chance right?

Imhoff, at that point on the Lakers instead of the Knicks, holds Willis back for a few moments at the very beginning before Reed throws either a quick jab or an elbow at him to shake him loose, Imhoff is the guy Wilt scored 100 points on. Bellamy is in that game too (played center in '66 on the Knicks with Reed at power forward).

Men were tougher in that era....

notice there was no shoving...no posturing.....

dudes were just swinging...Reed was focused and throwing accurate blows without hesitation.....( you would think after the first 3 guys got slept....they would stop going after him)

He wasnt fighting back though...He threw one punch when there was a big crowd in between them and as soon as he saw Willis was still going after him he started backing up real quick :lol

Apparently he was on death row for this incident but he just knocked out the judge and punched his way through security people that were trying to put him on the electric chair

Wow:bowdown:
I heard that he faked his injury in game 7 because he heard the feds were coming to the game. He had to exit quicktime and used a body double.

this is called a "chimp out" he was throwing punches at everybody even though no one was trying to seriously fight him. he even punched out a guy that was trying to hold him back.
i hope he got suspended for the season.
