One thing is for certain the lakers are rubbish this season...

1. Most shots taken in a single season

2. Most shots missed in a single season

Well after media bashing (ESPN) recently on Kobe I think we have that right saying he's washed up, cancer, selfish, overrated, #40 best player according to their player ranking. I think we can vent right now because it's obvious Kobe has a lot left in the rank and if healthy will be top 10 player this season.

I think Lakers fans are just happy to point out to all the people who have been saying he's finished, washed up, will be lucky to crack 17 ppg this season: he's not finished yet, he has not written his final chapter as a player.

His ability to be effective has been called into question, he's not even really in shape yet and he's showing that is not the case. As long as he doesn't come down with another injury, I think he's going to have a fantastic season and make the Lakers considerably better than they were last season.

It's only noteworthy because of the level of doubt that's been thrown his way. Not a bad sign at all given the context. Wait till he's back in game shape.

Going to be a fun season.

Its pre season so points don't even count at this stage. I want to see him play when defenders play hard on him and there is actually something on the line rather then practice and seeing which rookies to cut from the team.

Just a question.

Its obviously an impressive make. Does anyone actually think this is a good shot? What is he going to shoot on 20' fallaways? 25%? 30%??

This is the crux of the Kobe dispute. His supporters see an incredible basket and want to celebrate and the haters say "what a horrible shot".

Who's supposed to take shots on that team right now with Nash & Young out, Xavier out, Lin just came back...

Last 3 games, Kobe's averaging 26.6 ppg on 42% shooting....

Wade was drafted in 03, Kobe in 96... why compare him to Kobe right now? They are playing different teams and it's the damn pre-season...:facepalm One guy is coming off two serious injuries and didn't play for over 10 months while other guy has had the luxury of being rested by his coaching staff while not having nearly as much mileage on his legs.

People doing anything to downplay Kobe, analyzing pre-season games and comparing him to guys much younger than him. Yet at 36, he's putting up consecutive high-scoring games and last night was 9-13 in the 2nd half, 5-5 in 4th/OT

Yea let's pretend Wade isn't surrounded by Bosh, Deng and a few others I'm sure I'm forgetting.

This was Lin's first game back from injury. Boozer and Hill can't score without being set up and Ronnie Price is strictly Hustle and D.

Not everyone can reload the deck every season like some folks. Some shit gets vetoed.

Not a stan of either player, but COME ONN guys.

LeBron's AVERAGE stats are better than this. Kobe scores 27 points on 50% shooting and 10 frickin threads are made about it.

LeBron AVERAGED 27 points on 57% shooting FOR THE WHOLE SEASON. This type of game would have been below average for him.

Idk what the big deal is. Kobe will average his 21-22 points a game this year (which is still very good considering his age and his injury),and if Jeremy Lin can replicate linsanity, maybe the 2 guards can lead the lakers to the 8th seed.

Meanwhile, LeBron will average 26-27 and lead the Cavs for a shot at the title

See the difference here?

Kobe is not in his prime. The storyline is different. No one is comparing Kobe to Lebron here, why would you?

This is about a 36-year-old player making a comeback in his 19th NBA season. It's about him proving doubters wrong and coming back to entertain us after a long hiatus due to two career-threatening injuries.

Don't you see this? I mean it's obvious as hell. We just want to see our favorite player play a full NBA season and give us some more great moments before he retires. We appreciate every second he's on the court. Laker fans are hungry for a team that's worth watching and rooting for. We had to endure a catastrophic 2012-13 season filled with injuries to every single key player (from Dwight's bad back and shoulder to Kobe's achilles), another injury-filled 2013-14 season and now we're finally getting what we wanted - Kobe Bryant back on the court after 10 months.

Sorry for being excited to see an NBA player that has brought so much to this game in the last 18 years, sorry for rooting for him to do well and do what everyone said he wouldn't, which is come back from the achilles injury at this age. Only Nique did it successfully, Kobe might do better if everything goes right health-wise. He's already the most conditioned player on the team, and we only have like 3 vets.

It is a good shot if the player taking it has practiced it (for over 20 years)...and it has become a sort of "go to move"

were Kareem's contested 15' skyhooks good shots? ( Kareem used to skyhook past the FT line and on the baseline 10' - 15' out)....IMO yes...because it was Kareem...if Dwight Howard is taking 15' contested skyhooks everyone would laugh at him....

Yeah, no duh that Lebron is going to lead a team with Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving to the top of the Eastern conference...while Kobe gets to play with Jeremy Lin and Carlos Boozer to try and take them to the Playoffs in the Western conference. If he weren't taking the most amount of shots and the team was being blown out, most of you would be bragging about how Kobe's scared now and isn't leading his team.

He made clutch shots in the 4th quarter but oh it's pre season yet the Cavs beat the Bulls and every Lebron fan acts like it's the ECF already and the Cavs already got it on lock, hypocrites :oldlol: .

He's going up against James Harden. It would be a shock if he didn't drop 30 on opening night, unless it's a blowout.

I think 28/4/5 is a decent projection, but I think his TS% could be a little higher. I'm seeing 26/5/5 on 56%TS. That's if Lin and Young are relatively healthy and he's not forced to handle/shoot the ball that much. He's more effective playing off-ball, his catch-and-shoot game is underrated. Get him rhythm shots and he'll shoot a higher %. His low fg% comes from too many ISO situations, he's spent way too much energy on getting his shots off.

I'd like to see more of Kobe "Magic Bean" Johnson (2013 Kobe), but I feel like he shouldn't be playing that role at this stage of his career.
