Too bad for Nash.
Next stop, Hall of Fame - first ballot.

That said, the Lakers should go ahead and trade him out - Ilyasova (expirer) and Pachulia for Nash and a throw in contract. The Lakers get immediate depth at the bigs, which they need badly because Randle is a rookie and Boozer is real old. Pachoulia can provide some badly needed defense.

The Bucks get cap space next year with Pachouli gone.

Nash

That would lessen the blow for us Laker fans

Burgz V2

i want to see how the Lakers handle this. Do they eat the contract or try to rescind. Don't think that's possible though.

The disabled player exception, does anyone know if the player still gets paid in full?

I'm happy with this. Nash wasn't a good pick up for the Lakers in the first place, and they NEED someone at that position who we don't have to worry might be injured at any second for any reason. Lin's been really good so far, and anything that might get more minutes for Clarkson is a plus.

Nash should have just retired at the end of last season and auditioned to be Laker's head coach...he spent enough time on the bench rather than on the court to know the team anyhow.

In all seriousness, really do hope this doesn't effect Nash throughout the rest of his life. That's no joke if carrying bags alone causes that to flare up.

Nash had an astounding career. Although he didn't win a ring, he still accomplished a ton on his whole NBA journey. 2x MVP, 8x All-Star, 7 All-NBA team selections, and 5x assist leader. He also had career numbers of 17,387 points, 10,335 assists (3rd all-time), 3642 rebounds, and 899 steals. One of the greatest PGs to ever play the game and I'm glad I got to see the best of him. Sad way too end an illustrious career. Must have been one heavy ass bag he lifted. Lakers should keep an eye on the will bynum situation. Price has been nice on the defensive end, but the team needs 1 more bench guard that can get into the paint and create offense for himself. at the very least, that will give nick young space to work with, when healthy again.

i see this statement on here, a lot. and it always kind of irks me. its just such a general statement. above average at what, exactly?

cause lakers have players that are above average in certain aspects. just a short IE: ronnie price is an above average man defender. Davis is an above average rim protector. Lin is above average at getting into the paint and finding his roll man with a pocket pass.

do i think vegas is wrong? not necessarily, and i can understand why they have a pessimistic view of the roster. do i agree with them? no. i feel this team, if healthy (never included nash in my teams vision), can surprise teams with their cohesiveness. theyre not quite there, yet, but the possibility is prevalent.

We may be having a different argument here. I'm saying that Vegas is fallible despite having a more detailed understanding of the NBA than casual fans. Yet still they don't get everything right and thats a fact.

Also, it's not an impossibility that the Lakers go 500. It's unlikely, but if all positives are maximized it's not implausible. The Lakers get a lot more hate than they deserve. They also shouldn't get any credit, at all yet, since they haven't proved anything.

Of course they're fallible, but they're more accurate than ESPN or ISH posters.

Also it doesn't take some algorithm to see that the Lakers very likely will be a 30 win team. Their second best player is who, Carlos Boozer? Jeremy Lin?

I'd hate on any team trotting that miserable roster out there.
