My current pair is top notch and has good sound quality, but I sometimes dread watching anime with them because they are uncomfortable as f*ck. I need a decent pair that is super comfortable around $25-30

Pretty much the best headphones at that price range.

^^Had two of those Sony MDRs.

Currently using these Sennheiser HD 201.

The Sennheiser is more comfortable because it over your entire ear, which also keeps your ears warm.
Looking for comfort mostly so I should go with those I think.

I bought a pair of these and they have no business being as great as they are for that price:

http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=108&cp_id=10823&cs_id=1082302&p_id=8323&seq=1&format=2

My brother has the Beats and these give them a run for their money. I'd take them over the Sonys posted earlier which I've had and loved.

I'd say these

http://www.amazon.com/Koss-KSC75-Portable-Stereophone-Headphones/dp/B0006B486K

Unbeatable sound for the price, seriously incredible, light, doesn't make your ears sweat like over the ear types. They are rather ugly, and they don't seal because of the design (clip on), but theyre damn good. Even if clip ons aren't your thing, I'd say try them.

Pretty much the best headphones at that price range.

The Sennheiser HD202 sounds better across all frequencies, has no sibilance and is also more comfortable.

there's also this one for slightly more:

if you want name brands, the sennheiser hd 201 & hd 202 are pretty decent . if you're looking for on-ear, the koss portapros have always been highly rated

I've had these and I personally hated them. They were damn uncomfortable past 20 mins from clamping and imo the sound was quite bad. Bassy, but everything else sounds muddy.

I used to have them after the Sony's gave me headaches with their grip.

The voices sound natural for this price range, not bright or squeaky. It has good bass for audio effects and explosions, though not too much.

Again, it's still a $20 headphone, but among this price these are some of the best you'll find.

But also, for $36, an authorized Sennheiser dealer (i've bought two headphones from them)is selling a Like New Senn HD439, which is a step up model and is just better. If you can add 16 dollars more, do it. - http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B005N8W1TM/ref=sr_1_1_olp?ie=UTF8&qid=1414180523&sr=8-1&keywords=hd439&condition=used

But anyways good luck.

They stretch and get bigger for large heads, if at the maximum you were still getting clamp then that sucks. They aren't overly bright, which makes voices sound more natural. If you are used to bright headphones/high treble it will take a bit for your brain to adjust.

But yeah, they are $20 headphones after all. Can't have everything.

My head is actually on the smaller side, but they were still really uncomfortable. They are a bit oddly shaped, which contributes to the clamp, imo. When I first had them I didn't think of anything particularly negative about the sound, but I've had a bunch of other headphones since and I have to say in comparison that one was the muddiest sounding for things other than bass. I'd still absolutely recommend the Koss, crazy good at the price, especially for only home use.

Forgot all about the Porta Pro. For sound quality alone they are super good in that price range.

I don't recall the comfort being that great from the brief time i had with them, and they aren't really something you'd leave home with.

The one I linked is actually the KSC75, a clip on model. It doesn't have a band like the portapro, but I think that's why they might be more comfortable (more freedom). Yeah they definitely aren't for outside use, they're ugly and they leak sound and don't seal. However, for home use they hit the spot. I've gone through a bunch of different headphones before of varying price ranges, and the Koss is the only cheap one I still keep and use regularly when I'm on the computer.

i don't buy expensive headphones, keyboards, or mice anymore. they all go bad way too quick. you can always get good enough ones for so much cheaper.

My ears tend to get way too hot though. Do they trap heat?
