I know right? People shit on them for that, but if you play the game at a high level for as long as these guys did, of course you will set records like that. Kobe is also one of two perimeter players on the top 10 all time scoring list. Look it up. ALL big men, with the exception of Kobe and Jordan.

I'm glad you brought that up.

ESPN was a giant Favre slurpfest.
They berated the Packers for losing while he was there and mourned his retirement for three straight years, culminating in two weeks of nausea when he actually retired. He did get some negative coverage but only because he embarrassed himself by sexting some girl in NY. They can't ignore it when HOF QB acts like a stupid teenager.

An intelligent and unbiased ESPN journalist wrote a fair and accurate article about how Kobe is impacting the Lakers organization as a whole, ie rebuilding, team morale, etc. Unfortunately Kobe stans can't handle their idol receiving anything less than complete and utter praise, and are feeling extremely butt hurt right now.

I am neither a LeBron or Kobe fan, but when NON anonymous sources (other journalists, multiple Laker sources/management, and players from said article) come out and call into question the articles legitimacy, I'm gonna have to also question the authenticity of Abbott and his "sources".

Yeah, I'm sure some of the things in the article were exaggerated by Abbot. I think most writers probably do that in order to make their stories more interesting. I just find it ridiculous that Kobe fans think the article was written ONLY in response to Kobe calling the network a bunch of idiots. :facepalm
ESPN doesn't give a shit about what Kobe says about their analysts. Kobe calling them idiots only brings the network more publicity and attention, which is honestly the only thing ESPN cares about.

Kobe has the right to say what he wants about ESPN. You'd hope that a professional journalistic organization (although that doesn't really describe ESPN) would hold to higher standards than scratching back like an angry ex.
