Because LeBron maximizes his teammates to the fullest. Its not just a bunch of iso ball/hero ball ala OKC. LeBron gets the most out of his teammates
Look at his shot chart in Cleveland vs Miami, he took less 3's in Miami. Developed a low post game so that his shooters are open and he can set his teammates up
Look at Wade, wades knees were degrading so what does LeBron do? He sets up Wade for easy buckets from backdoor plays etc. Wade isnt forced to create for himself every play. Wade shot 54% this year just from basically open looks LeBron gives him
Look at Bosh, Bosh admitted he's too scared to bang down low so LeBron gives him open jumpshots. Bosh can relax and do what he does best. Heck Bosh's $118 million contract was basically because of LeBron helping him
Look at Chalmers. He's going to get EXPOSED this year without LeBron. Chalmers isnt a true point guard. He likes to shoot, and makes too many careless mistakes. LeBron basically took his job as a point guard, and let Mario roam around on offense and take all the shots he wants
Compared to OKC, where every player is basically in isolation, there's no unity. Put Durant on OKC, then switch him to Houston, Spurs, Pacers it wont matter, he'll play the exact same game. ISO jumpshots, and too afraid to post up, he cant adjust himself to maximize his teammates, doesnt have the versatility

This. Also the fact he joined a superteam and had the refs on his side in 2012 due to the sympathy of Stern.

lebron made it to the finals then got smoked by a more experienced team
2007
KD made it to the finals then got smoked by a more experienced team 2012
Lebron had to watch kobe go back to back 2009 2010
KD had to watch lebron go back to back 2012 2013
The difference between the two is that lebron is further into his career then Durant.
it took lebron a while to start winning. Durant will get there dont worry.

This exact thread could've been made in 2011 (and probably was) if you switched LeBron's name with Kobe, and Durant's name with LeBron. Stop being narrow minded about this type of stuff.

I didnt know comparing 1 year of LeBron with a good supporting cast, was comparable to Durants 4 years with a good supporting cast
Face it you cant compare by ages, considering LeBron won in his 2nd year with a good team, while Durants heading into his 5th year with a good team without a ring

exactly durant and lebron are in two different stages of their career. durants not exactly a loser he does really well in a tough conference. just like lebron before his first chip. their careers are a actually quite similar as this point.
you can make the arguement that lebron had les help but he had the weaker conference. yes he beat the celtics. and then lost to the celtics made it to the finals once.
Durants got more help but a much much tougher conference. especially come playoff time. he beat the spurs then got beat by the spurs made it to the finals once and lost. notice a similarity here???.

Durant's problem is he's too predictable, especially in the 4th quarter of tight games. He's either going to go iso himself, or he's going to pass to Westbrook and let him iso. The Thunder have arguably the best jump shooting PF in the league, yet they never use him in the 4th quarter. :facepalm
Durant's predictable iso game works okay during the regular season, but once coaches start game planning for it in the playoffs he is easily shut down.

Durants iso has a massive arsenal in it. he can do almost anything when it comes to putting the ball in the bucket. so although you know hes going to score you dont actually know how which doesnt make it all that predictable.

I wasn't aware Durant played on the Timberwolves.
Injuries to Westbrook and Ibaka hindered title contention. Their third best player and only other reliable scorer outside of Westbrook and Durant was traded. And then you have the Spurs who made Lebron's team look old and slow.
Otherwise, the Thunder have been title contenders for the past four seasons.

To me this is what seperates lebron from guys like durant, kobe and even jordan. He doesn't need superstars on his team because he can make his teammates better. Hes been with the worst coaches, but still plays well because he is the coach. His playmaking is exceptional, reason why everyone wants to play with him. His rebounding is great and doesn't rely on a guy like ibaka to block shots to save him from defending and easy rebounds. This guy is dam efficient and creates his own shots. 57% is no small feat. This guy can straight up ball from 3 point shooting to the rack, with great finishing to the likes of no one before.
Now Durant hasn't impressed me much. Even with superstars westbrook, ibaka, harden, jackson, and adams, he still hasn't got it done. He has a good jump shot, but relies too hard on the whistles and ticky tacky fouls. This dude got shot down hard by tony allen.
If you want to compare durant to lebron, you may as well compare Kobe to Chalmers. The difference between the 2 is day and night.

The difference bet bran and durant is that bran already admitted hes weak by joining superteams after superteams while durant didnt..And if you root for weak players then how much weaker can you be..your almost on the same level as those bieber fans. The borderline fakkts

I just love how lebron fans act like the east is remotely closer to the west in terms of competition. and how D wade and Bosh were complete scrubs and had only 1% of contribution to lebrons success in miami
an amazing defensive display by tony allen in one series which OKC lost by the way. Durant getting to the line alot doesnt take away anything from his game. it adds to his. the guy is a great free throw shooter. the problem is if you dont play him hard he'll score on you easy and if you play him too hard he'll draw the foul and go to the line. pick your poison. this is exactly why durant is the best scorer in the league.
I also love how people call lebron > durant based on current accolades like the two guys are in the same stages of their career they are not. lebron currently is a guy whos been on top of the mountain and could just be coming off it. losing his MVP and his championship this year.
Durant was a young hungry lion whos just stepping into his prime hes already on page with the best in the league.its only a matter of when he comes back that hell be ranked best in the world.

That's not the point. The point is counting a player by his championships is close minded because so much more goes into a player's team winning a championship. You don't just go "LeBron is 2/4 and Durant is 0/3, therefore A>B" - that's so simple minded and yields nothing sound. Players perform better or worse than they are expected to. Cleveland should have beat Orlando in 2009. And they would have, if Orlando shot the way they did in the finals, but instead their shooters shot lights out and Dwight abused the Cavs front line. Shit happens in games that's unexpected and changes the outcomes of games. It's not all in the hands of one player...

Lebron is great at making mediocre players decent, and great players....decent.
