The Magic have already signed Nikola Vucevic to a rookie-scale contract extension.

How about one of their extension-eligible fourth-year players?

Tobias Harris said he wants to remain in Orlando, but there could be complications.

Chris Broussard of ESPN:

Keep eye on Tobias Harris. Won't sign ext w/Orlando b4 10/31. Restricted FA next summer. Nike deal gives him upgrade if he in LA, NY or CHI

Nike giving players more money to play in certain markets seems like something the NBA should crack down on... You don't want advertisers affecting what teams FA's go to.

Not that it doesn't make sense, but still.

He wants over 10mil a year but hasn't proven he is more than a 6th man yet so I'm happy Orlando didn't pay him.

This isn't something new. Nike has been doing this for a long time now.

I definitely do believe you, it seems like something Nike would do, (and a smart business practice) but do you have any links? Can't find anything and I'm interested in the subject.

It seems like something the NBA would crack down on.

the league should also adjust salary cap for teams that play in states with incomes taxes vs teams that play instates without an income tax. Contracts are worth more in Florida than in New York.

Nike is allowed to heavily influence where players play at?

Yeah, I don't see that happening though.

Why the f*ck would Nike want Tobias Harris' to be on a big market team for? Wtf has this niqqa even done in the league?

I can see him being a really good starter in this league but ppl are acting like he has some crazy potential

People said the same shit about Jeremy Lin. Look what happened when that guy played 10 good games in NYC.

Lol or just look at Melo or Amare when both had like 15 good games to start out a season in NY and were declared the MVP favorites.

Dude is gonna be a great player. A perennial all-star in the East. But he's gonna rot in Orlando. Team is gonna stay in mediocrity for life.

Imagine if he played in NY. Dude would BEAST alongside Melo.
