Players with crazy stamina/endurance

I'm rolling with Westbrook

Remember there is a mental aspect of running a marathon, pick someone tough like WB or Rondo, not Rose or LeBron

Best marathon runners in the NBA would be lean SG types like Rip Hamilton, Kevin Martin, etc. who run off of screens all day and never stop moving without the ball.

Kevin Martin is a good choice.

Interview with Hamilton about his running hobby, has some interesting quotes about NBA players not being runners: http://www.runnersworld.com/celebrity-runners/im-runner-richard-hamilton

So a lot of times when I go out and run I actually take my dogs and my dogs have a lot of energy. They just like to run around the house. So what I will do is take them outside on a leash and I will just run. And they'll take off too–you know a dog can run all day. And I'll keep running and running and running until they stop, and then I know I've done enough running.

The question is just what NBA players would be best at running a marathon. Anyone can train to run a marathon if they really want to. Now if we're talking about compared to elite marathon runners, then not a chance.

I have to be the only runner on this board and the only one who follows professional running. Ray Allen ran cross in HS and Hamilton ran the mile I think. Any of the guys who were former soccer players would be good runners like Nash. As far as marathon runners go, it's difficult to say as there are not many tall marathoners. There are guys who are/were above six feet but not much taller. Geoffrey Mutai is pretty tall, around six feet, Kimetto is only 5'7" or a little taller. Wilson Kipsang is the only other good marathoner who is six feet that I can think of off the top of my head. Most NBA guys are too heavy to run a fast marathon. Alan Culpepper was an American matathon runner who was 6'1" and weighed 135. Durant is thin like that or he was but he's too tall. You will find some taller 800/1500m runners like Andy Wheating who has run 3:30 and a few tall 400/800 guys like Martyn Rooney but in general distance runners are smaller and lighter. Although Chris Solinsky did run 12:55/26:59 as a six foot tall guy who weighed 160-165. NBA players would be better at sprinting and the ones who could be better distance runners would be more of 800/1500/3000/5000. Maybe Ray Allen could have run a decent 10000 at some point since he has the training background to some degree but it's hard to say. For 5000m and up you're not going to run your fasteat without several years of 100 mile weeks and for marathon it would be at least 120/mi a week.

KMart, Westbrook, and Rondo were the 3 names that jumped out to me when I read the title.

Of course the guys like Rip and Ray Allen would be great choices.

Parsons and Butler traveled the most per game last season. Batum had the highest distance traveled. If any of that matters.

Durant. Think about it. The guys stride wud probably twice the average man. And hes skinny as hell. Im not even gonna mention the colour thing. But it would help I suppose. I dont know much about genetics but it seem dark skin brothers do well in marathons.

Plus hes a very hard worker. and hes sick of being 2nd in his life haha

Haha not peoole of West African descent. "Dark skin brothers" of East African descent do well in the marathon. They are born and raised at altitude which certainly helps. He's far too tall though, it would never work. He could possibly be a 400/800 runner though.
