If the Mavs land J.J. Barea, he would be the second member of the Mavs' 2011 championship team to return to the franchise in recent months after Dallas reacquired center Tyson Chandler in June.

He legitimately might be the worst player in the NBA right now.

Brian Cardinal was the secret GOAT of the 2011 team
Look how he is naturally paced in the middle

I don't get the hate on Barea. Yes, he is undersized but he is a valuable player off the bench. Nobody expected him to lead a team in anything, but provide solid backup to the starting PG. He'll be good in Dallas, like he used to.

I agree. He was in a bad situation in Minnesota. He can still light it up and be the momentum changer off the bench.

I agree
If we replace Mekel you give up nothing, and get something. So how is this in any way a bad trade for Dallas?
