So Lance, Kemba and Al are locked in for at least another year? Solid.

Kembas someone who I hope has a break out season this year. He now has a good cast around him so hopefully he steps it up.

MKG and Vonleh
for
Kawhi

Charlotte get their perimeter guy, Spurs get MKG who is great defensively and Vonleh to have some kind of project the day Duncan retires or really starts playing to his age.
Also Spurs don't have to pay Kawhi the max which he isn't worth with the way San Antonio are built.

would you guys pay Kawhi the max? lol at Parker, Ginobili and Duncan taking paycuts and then outta nowhere comes Kawhi and fecks everything up by asking for the max?

Also, Spurs don't want to stand there with a max Kawhi when Duncan retires/shows age. Kawhi is easily replaced in the Spurs game just like many in that Spurs team not named Duncan or Parker. MKG would easily fill the Kawhi role at the 3 with his defense and motor and most importantly not cost the max.

Seems a little steep to me but I guess it'll probably turn out ok when the new tv deal kicks in.

what with the rising cap, thats a pretty reasonable deal

His numbers don't necessarily justify it, but Kemba is the creative guy. Charlotte would look a lot worse without him. Charlotte has a lot of pieces that are expendable, but good luck finding a creative guy like that on the market when you are Charlotte, you have to get pretty lucky.

I do hope he can improve his effiency a little though.

Really not that hard to find a PG who can give you 17/6 on 39%fg, especially considering how deep the position is. That's essentially what Brandon Jennings gives you and you could probably get him for about nothing.

As for Kawai, I think the max might be appropriate if you go ahead and give it to him before the tv money kicks in. He's certainly better than Gordon Hayward who got the max.

MKG's shot actually looked pretty good this preseason. The three games I watched, it was very smooth looking and one game he was just on fire. Curious to see what he can do if he can consistently start making jumpers.

Kawhi is getting a max deal or he is leaving

Any offer less than 13-14M a year would be insulting when he just won Finals MVP and when the Spurs are paying Splitter almost 10M a year to put up 8 pts / 6 rebound

lmao at people who think bc Timmy, Parker, Ginobili took pay cuts then Kawhi is.

That trio is over, Kawhi is not gonna give up 5M a year over 5 years (25M) on his first extension AFTER HE WON THE FINALS MVP

I like that for them. Keeps their core locked in. Deal is there with guys like Teague, Lawson, Conley etc.

Continues to make Steph Curry look criminally underpaid though.

Teague only gets $8 mil/yr, and I actually thought that may have been too much when we gave it to him lol.

Wound up being a great deal.
