Damn, how things have changed. It's sad to see how much people enjoy any mistake Bryant makes. Personally, I'm guilty of doing this in the past, but I realized just how dumb it was. I was just pissed at his fans, but that is a pretty dumb excuse when you think about it. Sorry, doesn't matter how big of a LeBron fan I may be, there is no replacing Kobe. He is THE CLOSEST THING WE'VE witnessed to MJ. Take away the titles, other accolades, etc. and it still doesn't matter. We should appreciate this guy instead of looking for any opportunity to bring him down. When he's gone, the haters will miss him too.

That's why people hate him. People were saying there will never be another MJ yet Kobe 3-peated while MJ had his struggle comeback on the Wizards and dropped 55 on him to send him to retirement. It's what got all them people mad and they couldn't wait for Kobe to slip & fall. Now they are hating on an old Kobe that's just coming back from injury...pathetic and classless.

Kobe will always get hated on even if he wins 1000 rings because the haters will always be bitter that this guy raped that white girl, a beloved friend, family, or relative of theirs.

Million dollar athlete (already married to a beautiful woman) is gonna commit rape. Pull your hater glasses down and quit being so naive. Oh and the rape victim had multiple male semen on her underwear. Think I'll stick with Kobe on this one.

I (as a Kobe stan)thinks kobe should retire. he's my favourite player and all but watching him in this season potentially getting schooled by nobody's (JUST BECAUSE OF HIS AGE AND INJURIES) is not something i really want to see.

he'd literally sht on all his matchups if he was in his prime. but its over for him in a way that he's all the chip. If he can't compete for the chip then there is no point in playing. and i personally dont believe he's going to win it.

hes got nothing left to prove and i just wish he'd just let it go.

I don't know some people think he's done he isn't. Yes, he has lost some quickness, speed, and athleticism, due to age and injuries, but being top 15 player is still possible.

Lol game one of NBA season and you already counting him out how about giving him some time until December weather or not he's done. At least enough time when he gets his legs underneath him strength wise. The guy hasn't played since Dec of last season if your professional athlete you'll have rust being out that long. BTW Kobe had 16 points at halftime with 46% shooting.

Kobe's had much worse opening night games before...people expect him to play great every game.

Kobe plays his first NBA game in a year and scores 19 in less than 30 minutes (16 pts in the first 19), and he's done :oldlol:

Point is, Kobe is only the "closest thing to MJ" because he swagger-jacked him. He's not even close to him in terms of legacy. End of story.

Besides that, I generally agree..

But the Lakers will be hilarious these next years..

Oh look, ImKobe believes Kobe is "close" to MJ....

MJ: 30/6/5/2/1 on 50; 6 rings 6 FMVP's and 5 MVP's
Kobe: 25/5/5/1/0.5 on 45; 5 rings 2 FMVP's and 1 MVP

MJ is A COUPLE of tiers above Kobe.

He's basically 5 ppg better scorer, a tier above (like the difference between a 20 ppg and 25 ppg caliber scorer).

Defensively it's not close and further proven by MJ's DPOTY.

AND MJ RETIRED during his peak, missing out on 1-2 peak production years with more possible MVP's / Finals MVP's / Titles.

STILL has a 5 to 1 Edge in MVP's, and a 6-2 Edge in Finals MVP's.

Kobe is an all-time great, no doubt. MJ's a living legend, the GOAT.

It is, NOT CLOSE... DEAL WITH IT.

so stats equal legacy? Kobe's the most polarizing athlete of his generation. He plays on a medicore lottery team and the entire league is talking about him and haters criticize him for "only" scoring 19 points at the age of 36 after coming back from breaking his knee and not playing for a year. He's won 5 NBA Championships and was voted the player of the decade. He's widely considered top 10 all-time and was considered a top 5 all-time player during his prime by NBA coaches and players, conseus best player in the league in the mid-2000s according to NBA players (Lebron, for one).

MJ has more accolades, but his legacy is already beginning to fade due to the fact that he's a complete asshole off the court. He's still conseus GOAT because you can't take away what he did.

Being the 2nd best SG of all-time is as close to MJ as anyone could get. When MJ retired in 98, people said there'd never be a player that's even close to as good as MJ was. Kobe's game came along in a couple years after that and he was the best player in 3 out of 4 series on the most dominating Playoff team in NBA history, his 11-game run to the Finals is nothing short of all-time greatness. He had a terrific 2002 NBA Finals to seal the 3-peat. He showed he could score 35+ a game when given the touches during his prime, no one else since MJ had done that. He won a league MVP and showed he could carry a team on his own. He led a team to 3 consecutive NBA Finals appearances and won 2 with 2 Finals MVPs. He's going to pass MJ all-time in scoring. He has the most assists out of anyone in the top 5 scoring.

You're a moron for constantly trying to discredit the man when the accolades are there. You can't erase 7 NBA Finals, you can't erase his 5 championship rings.

Huh? I love MJ... I've given him props alot on here.

You know the difference between the 2 is night and day.

ImKobe is basically like Jemele Hill right now....

Kobe doesn't have the numbers, accolades, or awards that Jordan earned, but he's close b/c I say so!
