Looks like Spurs got another instance of home cooking today.

Can the Mavs win 60 this season?

Spurs won without 3 of their 7 or 8 best players. Mavs had an intact lineup.

Home cooking. :oldlol:

Spurs are a system team though man. I was referring more to the officiating :)

What about the mavs look like a 60 win team?

Dirk looked alright. He got crossed by Diaw and fell on his own feet like twice.

Alright.

Still, Dirk did look good. Which is great news for us fans

nah I don't actually believe Mavs will get close to 60. 55 and I will be ecstatic.

I figured no one would be posting at this hour.

Yep. Huge Spurs fan. But I love good basketball. And seeing a top 15 alltime player still produce is great.

Really sloppy but it felt like Playoff basketball.

Parsons didnt look good. Chandler looked really good. Aminu and Nelson are solid pickups. And I think this is the year where Ellis really takes the reigns.

It's that German climate in the winter. That and German medicine is top-notch. Dirk can play till he's 40 if he wants.

30,000 career points will be his.

He looked pretty average. Got cooked on D, made some open shots off assists. Nothing spectacular really, but he made his shots. Felt like he could have done more because his shots were falling.

If Tyson stays healthy this is a legit 55+ win team.

With Tyson on the court they outplayed the Spurs, he had to sit most of the 3rd quarter because of some very questionable foul calls by the refs, and in the 3rd quarter the Spurs won the game. As soon as Tyson was on the court in the 4th the Mavs were better again.

Every team is a system team the Spurs are just better at identifying and developing players for their system. I don't get it why people say "he's a system player, they're a system team". Which team or coach wouldn't implement a system that best suited his players or find players that best suited his system?

Spurs shot 14 for 28 (50%) from three and when Chandler got into foul trouble in the third it took the wind out of Dallas' sails. With all that one more pass and Ellis probably buries the open three and they walk out of San Antonio with a win.

If they stay relatively healthy they could be a top 3 team in the West.

A 7 footer with a jumpshoting-based offensive game is going to age pretty gracefully.

As good as it gets for a season opener. Very entertaining team basketball from both squads. Much better than the Rockets-Lakers game that came on after. Nothing but ISO, ISO, ISO with that one.

that and it's a long long season... looking
"spry" on the first day of the season after several months off is a lot different then looking spry in the dog days of the season after the all star break...
